29 In the
thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri became king over
Israel; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two
years.
29. యూదారాజైన ఆసా యేలుబడిలో ముప్పదియెనిమిదవ సంవత్సరమున ఒమీ కుమారుడైన అహాబు ఇశ్రా యేలువారికి రాజై షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని ఇరు వదిరెండు సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను.
30 Now
Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were
before him.
30. ఒమీ కుమారుడైన అహాబు తన పూర్వికులందరిని మించునంతగా యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము చేసెను.
31 And it
came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the
sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the
daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and
worshiped him.
31. నెబాతు కుమారుడైన యరొబాము జరిగించిన పాపక్రియలను అనుసరించి నడుచుకొనుట స్వల్ప సంగతి యనుకొని, అతడు సీదోనీయులకు రాజైన ఎత్బయలు కుమార్తెయైన యెజెబెలును వివాహము చేసికొని బయలు దేవతను పూజించుచు వానికి మ్రొక్కుచునుండెను.
32 Then he
set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

33 And
Ahab made a [Asherah, a Canaanite goddess] wooden image. Ahab did more to
provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were
before him.

Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord God
of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these
years, except at my word.”
1. అంతట గిలాదు కాపురస్థుల సంబంధియును తిష్బీయుడునైన ఏలీయా అహాబునొద్దకు వచ్చి,
ఎవని సన్నిధిని నేను నిలువబడియున్నానో,
ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన ఆ యెహోవా జీవముతోడు నా మాట ప్రకారము గాక, యీ సంవత్సరములలో మంచైనను, వర్షమైనను పడదని ప్రకటిం చెను.

2 Then the
word of the Lord came to him, saying, 3 “Get away from here and turn eastward,
and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. 4 And it will be
that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed
you there.”

‘And these you shall regard as an abomination among the birds; they shall not
be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the buzzard, 14 the
kite, and the falcon after its kind; 15 every raven after its kind, 16 the
ostrich, the short-eared owl, the sea gull, and the hawk after its kind; 17 the
little owl, the fisher owl, and the screech owl; 18 the white owl, the jackdaw,
and the carrion vulture; 19 the stork, the heron after its kind, the hoopoe,
and the bat.

5 So he
went and did according to the word of the Lord, for he went and stayed by the
Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan. 6 The ravens brought him bread and
meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the
brook.

7 And it
happened after a while that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain
in the land.
7. కొంతకాలమైనతరువాత దేశములో వర్షము లేక ఆ నీరు ఎండిపోయెను.

and the Widow
8 Then the
word of the Lord came to him, saying, 9 “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs
to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for
you.”
8. అంతట యెహోవా వాక్కు అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను నీవు సీదోను పట్టణ సంబంధ మైన సారెపతు అను ఊరికి పోయి అచ్చట ఉండుము; 9. నిన్ను పోషించుటకు అచ్చటనున్న యొక విధవరాలికి నేను సెల విచ్చితిని.

10 So he
arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, indeed a
widow was there gathering sticks. And he called to her and said, “Please bring
me a little water in a cup, that I may drink.”
10. అందుకతడు లేచి సారెపతునకు పోయి పట్టణపు గవినియొద్దకు రాగా, ఒక విధవరాలు అచ్చట కట్టెలు ఏరుచుండుట చూచి ఆమెను పిలిచి త్రాగుటకై పాత్రతో కొంచెము నీళ్లు నాకు తీసికొనిరమ్మని వేడుకొనెను.
11 And as
she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel
of bread in your hand.”
11. ఆమె నీళ్లు తేబోవుచుండగా అతడామెను మరల పిలిచినాకొక రొట్టెముక్కను నీ చేతిలో తీసికొని రమ్మని చెప్పెను.
12 So she
said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour
in a bin, and a little oil in a [a]jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of
sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat
it, and die.”
12. అందుకామెనీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా జీవముతోడు తొట్టిలో పట్టెడు పిండియు, బుడ్డిలో కొంచెము నూనెయు నాయొద్దనున్నవే గాని అప్పమొకటైన లేదు, మేము చావకముందు నేను ఇంటికి పోయి వాటిని నాకును, నా బిడ్డకును సిద్ధము చేసికొనవలెనని కొన్ని పుల్లలు ఏరుటకై వచ్చితిననెను.
13 And
Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a
small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for
yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of
flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the
Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ”
13. అప్పుడు ఏలీయా ఆమెతో ఇట్లనెను భయపడవద్దు, పోయి నీవు చెప్పినట్లు చేయుము; అయితే అందులో నాకొక చిన్న అప్పము మొదటచేసి నాయొద్దకు తీసికొనిరమ్ము, తరువాత నీకును నీ బిడ్డకును అప్పములు చేసికొనుము. 14. భూమిమీద యెహోవా వర్షము కురిపించు వరకు ఆ తొట్టిలో ఉన్న పిండి తక్కువకాదు, బుడ్డిలో నూనె అయిపోదని
15 So she
went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her
household ate for many days. 16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the
jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.
15. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడు అనెను. అంతట ఆమె వెళ్లి ఏలీయా చెప్పిన మాటచొప్పున చేయగా అతడును, ఆమెయు, ఆమె యింటి వారును అనేకదినములు భోజనముచేయుచు వచ్చిరి. 16. యెహోవా ఏలీయా ద్వారా సెలవిచ్చిన ప్రకారము తొట్టిలో ఉన్న పిండి తక్కువ కాలేదు, బుడ్డిలో ఉన్న నూనె అయిపోలేదు.

I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not even by a mighty
hand. 20 So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders
which I will do in its midst; and after that he will let you go. 21 And I will
give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you
go, that you shall not go empty-handed.
22 But
every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her
house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put
them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.”
19. ఐగుప్తు రాజు మహాబలముతో మీ మీదికి వచ్చి మిమ్ము పోనియ్యడని నేనెరుగుదును; 20. కాని, నేను నా చెయ్యి చాపి ఐగుప్తు మధ్యమున నేను చేయదలచియున్న నా అద్భుతములన్నిటిని చూపి దాని పాడుచేసెదను. అటుతరువాత అతడు మిమ్ము పంపివేయును.

31 Then
he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my
people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve the Lord as you have
said. 32 Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone;
and bless me also.”
31. ఆ రాత్రివేళ ఫరో మోషే అహరోనులను పిలిపించి వారితో-మీరును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులును లేచి నా ప్రజల మధ్యనుండి బయలు వెళ్లుడి, మీరు చెప్పినట్లు పోయి యెహోవాను సేవించుడి. 32. మీరు చెప్పినట్లు మీ మందలను మీ పశువులను తీసికొని పోవుడి; నన్ను దీవించుడని చెప్పెను.
33 And
the Egyptians urged the people, that they might send them out of the land in
haste. For they said, “We shall all be dead.” 34 So the people took their dough
before it was leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their clothes
on their shoulders. 35 Now the children of Israel had done according to the
word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver,
articles of gold, and clothing. 36 And the Lord had given the people favor in
the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus
they plundered the Egyptians.
33. ఐగుప్తీయులు మనమందరము చచ్చిన వారమనుకొని, తమ దేశములోనుండి ప్రజలను పంపుటకు త్వరపడి వారిని బలవంతముచేసిరి. 34. కాబట్టి ప్రజలు తమ పిండిముద్దను తీసికొని, అది పులియక మునుపే పిండి పిసుకు తొట్లతో దానిని మూటకట్టు కొని, తమ భుజములమీద పెట్టుకొని పోయిరి.
35. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు మోషే మాట చొప్పునచేసి ఐగుప్తీయులయొద్ద వెండి నగలను బంగారు నగలను వస్త్రములను అడిగి తీసికొనిరి. 36. యెహోవా ప్రజల యెడల ఐగుప్తీయులకు కటాక్షము కలుగజేసెను గనుక వారు వారికి కావలసిన వాటిని ఇచ్చిరి. అట్లు వారు ఐగుప్తీయులను దోచుకొనిరి.

8 By faith
Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive
as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith
he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with
Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for
the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she[d] bore a
child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had
promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many
as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the

23 By

to enjoy the [g]passing pleasures of sin, 26 esteeming the [h]reproach of

casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. ఆయన మిమ్మునుగూర్చి చింతించుచున్నాడు గనుక మీ చింత యావత్తు ఆయనమీద వేయుడి.

నీ భారము యెహోవా మీద మోపుము ఆయనే నిన్ను ఆదుకొనును నీతిమంతులను ఆయన ఎన్నడును కదలనీయడు.
