Zacchaeus the Tax Collector: Luke 19:1-10

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.

1 ఆయన సంచరించుచు యెరికో పట్టణములో ప్రవే శించి

2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.

2 దానిగుండా పోవుచుండెను. ఇదిగో సుంకపు గుత్తదారుడును ధనవంతుడునైన జక్కయ్య అను పేరుగల ఒకడు

·       Luke 18:11 The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 11. పరిసయ్యుడు నిలువబడిదేవా, నేను చోరులును అన్యాయస్థులును వ్యభిచారులునైన యితర మనుష్యులవలెనైనను, ఈ సుంకరివలెనైనను ఉండనందుకు నీకు కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించుచున్నాను.

·       సుంకరులును పాపులును / సుంకరులును వేశ్యలును

3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd.

3 యేసు ఎవరోయని చూడగోరెనుగాని, పొట్టి వాడైనందున జనులు గుంపుకూడి యుండుట వలన చూడ లేకపోయెను.

4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

4 అప్పుడు యేసు ఆ త్రోవను రానై యుండెను గనుక అతడు ముందుగా పరుగెత్తి, ఆయనను చూచుటకు ఒక మేడి చెట్టెక్కెను.

5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”

5 యేసు ఆ చోటికి వచ్చినప్పుడు, కన్నులెత్తి చూచి జక్కయ్యా త్వరగా దిగుము, నేడు నేను నీ యింట నుండవలసియున్నదని అతనితో చెప్పగా

6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.

6 అతడు త్వరగా దిగి సంతోషముతో ఆయనను చేర్చుకొనెను.

7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

7 అందరు అది చూచి ఈయన పాపియైన మనుష్యునియొద్ద బసచేయ వెళ్లెనని చాల సణుగుకొనిరి.

8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

8 జక్కయ్య నిలువబడి ఇదిగో ప్రభువా, నా ఆస్తిలో సగము బీదలకిచ్చుచున్నాను; నేనెవనియొద్ద నైనను అన్యాయముగా దేనినైనను తీసికొనినయెడల అతనికి నాలుగంతలు మరల చెల్లింతునని ప్రభువుతో చెప్పెను.

Matthew 3:8 Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. మారుమనస్సుకు తగిన ఫలము ఫలించుడి.

9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

9 అందుకు యేసు ఇతడును అబ్రాహాము కుమారుడే; ఎందుకనగా నేడు ఈ యింటికి రక్షణ వచ్చియున్నది.

Acts 16:31-34. 30 He (jailor) then brought them (Paul and Silas) out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 30. వారిని వెలుపలికి తీసికొనివచ్చి అయ్యలారా, రక్షణపొందుటకు నేనేమి చేయవలెననెను.

31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”  31. అందుకు వారు ప్రభువైన యేసు నందు విశ్వాసముంచుము, అప్పుడు నీవును నీ యింటివారును రక్షణ పొందుదురని చెప్పి

32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 32. అతనికిని అతని ఇంటనున్న వారికందరికిని దేవుని వాక్యము బోధించిరి.

33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 33. రాత్రి ఆ గడియలోనే అతడు వారిని తీసికొనివచ్చి, వారి గాయములు కడిగెను; వెంటనే అతడును అతని ఇంటివారందరును బాప్తిస్మము పొందిరి.

34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household. 34. మరియు అతడు వారిని ఇంటికి తోడుకొని వచ్చి భోజనముపెట్టి, దేవునియందు విశ్వాసముంచినవాడై తన ఇంటివారందరితోకూడ ఆనందించెను.

1Tim 1:15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. 15. పాపులను రక్షించుటకు క్రీస్తుయేసు లోకమునకు వచ్చెనను వాక్యము నమ్మతగినదియు పూర్ణాంగీకారమునకు యోగ్య మైనదియునై యున్నది. అట్టి వారిలో నేను ప్రధానుడను.

 

Son of Abraham:

Galatians 3:7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. 7. కాబట్టి విశ్వాససంబంధులే అబ్రాహాము కుమారులని మీరు తెలిసికొనుడి.

John 8:39 "Abraham is our father," they replied. "If you were children of Abraham," said Jesus, "you would do the works of Abraham. అందుకు వారు ఆయనతో మా తండ్రి అబ్రాహామనిరి; యేసు మీరు అబ్రాహాము పిల్లలైతే అబ్రాహాము చేసిన క్రియలు చేతురు.

Romans 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may rest on grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring--not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. 16. ఈ హేతువుచేతను ఆ వాగ్దానమును యావత్సంతతికి, అనగా ధర్మశాస్త్రముగలవారికి మాత్రముకాక అబ్రాహామునకున్నట్టి విశ్వాసముగలవారికికూడ దృఢము కావలెనని, కృప ననుసరించినదై యుండునట్లు, అది విశ్వాసమూలమైనదాయెను. 17. తాను విశ్వసించిన దేవుని యెదుట, అనగా మృతులను సజీవులనుగా చేయువాడును, లేనివాటిని ఉన్నట్టుగానే పిలుచువాడునైన దేవుని యెదుట, అతడు మనకందరికి తండ్రియైయున్నాడు ఇందును గూర్చినిన్ను అనేక జనములకు తండ్రినిగా నియమించితిని అని వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

Galatians 3:9 So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. 9 కాబట్టి విశ్వాససంబంధులే విశ్వాసముగల అబ్రాహాముతో కూడ ఆశీర్వదింపబడుదురు.

Galatians 3:26-29 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus… యేసుక్రీస్తునందు మీరందరు విశ్వాసమువలన దేవుని కుమారులై యున్నారు.

10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

10. నశించినదానిని వెదకి రక్షించుటకు మనుష్యకుమారుడు వచ్చెనని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

 

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

 

Matt 9:10-11. 10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

10. ఇంటిలో భోజనమునకు యేసు కూర్చుండియుండగా ఇదిగో సుంకరులును పాపులును అనేకులు వచ్చి ఆయనయొద్దను ఆయన శిష్యులయొద్దను కూర్చుండిరి. 11. పరిసయ్యులు అది చూచి మీ బోధకుడు సుంకరులతోను పాపులతోను కలిసి యెందుకు భోజనము చేయుచున్నాడని ఆయన శిష్యులనడిగిరి.

Luke 15:1 Now all the tax collectors and the sinners were coming near Him to listen to Him. ఒకప్పుడు సమస్తమైన సుంకరులును పాపులును ఆయన బోధ వినుటకు ఆయన దగ్గరకు వచ్చుచుండగా

Luke 7:34 The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ మనుష్య కుమారుడు తినుచును, త్రాగుచును వచ్చెను గనుక మీరుఇదిగో వీడు తిండిపోతును మద్యపానియు, సుంకరులకును పాపులకును స్నేహితుడును అను చున్నారు.

Jn 15:14-15. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

13. తన స్నేహితులకొరకు తన ప్రాణము పెట్టువానికంటె ఎక్కువైన ప్రేమగలవాడెవడును లేడు. 14. నేను మీ కాజ్ఞాపించువాటిని చేసిన యెడల, మీరు నా స్నేహితులై యుందురు. 15. దాసుడు తన యజమానుడు చేయుదానిని ఎరుగడు గనుక ఇక మిమ్మును దాసులని పిలువక స్నేహితులని పిలుచుచున్నాను, ఎందుకనగా నేను నా తండ్రివలన వినిన సంగతులన్నిటిని మీకు తెలియజేసితిని.

 

James 2:23 And the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. 23. కాబట్టి అబ్రాహాము దేవుని నమ్మెను అది అతనికి నీతిగా ఎంచబడెను అను లేఖనము నెరవేర్చబడెను. మరియు దేవుని స్నేహితుడని అతనికి పేరుకలిగెను.

Isaiah 41:8 But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend; 8. నా సేవకుడవైన ఇశ్రాయేలూ, నేనేర్పరచుకొనిన యాకోబూ,నా స్నేహితుడైన అబ్రాహాము సంతానమా,

2Chro 20:7 Our God, did you not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend? 7 నీ జనులైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెదుటనుండి ఈ దేశపు కాపురస్థులను తోలివేసి, నీ స్నేహితుడైన అబ్రాహాముయొక్క సంతతికి దీనిని శాశ్వతముగా నిచ్చిన మా దేవుడవు నీవే.

 

James 4:4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 4. వ్యభిచారిణులారా, యీ లోకస్నేహము దేవునితో వైరమని మీరెరుగరా? కాబట్టియెవడు ఈ లోకముతో స్నేహము చేయగోరునో వాడు దేవునికి శత్రువగును.

Matt 21:31 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. అందుకు వారుమొదటివాడే అనిరి. యేసు సుంకరులును వేశ్యలును మీకంటె ముందుగా దేవుని రాజ్యములో ప్రవేశించుదురని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాను.
