you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

labor for physical food, but labor for Spiritual food which gives you eternal
life, which the Son of Man will give you.
28 Then
they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
29 Jesus
answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him
whom He sent.”

Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that we may see
it and believe You?
What work
will You do? 31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He
gave them bread from heaven to eat.’ ”
32 Then
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the
bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For
the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
35 And
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of
life.
48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers
ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. 50 This is the bread which comes
down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.
51 I am the living bread which came down
from heaven. If anyone eats of this
bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which
I shall give for the life of the world.”

52 The Jews therefore quarreled
among themselves, saying, “How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?”
53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most
assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink
His blood, you have no life in you.

divided on this matter.

Jesus said to them, “If you were
Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and
the father of it.

hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 13 జీతగాడు

the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the
Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the

other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they
will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

Though
there are few animals mentioned in the Bible, sheep was mentioned more than 400
times in the Bible.
And most
of the time, God compared his people to sheep.
Jesus here
is talking about a relation between a sheep (గొఱ్ఱెల) and its shepherd (గొఱ్ఱెల
కాపరి).
We need to
understand that Jesus is saying that we are all his sheep and the people who
guide us are our shepherds.
That’s why
he says, “You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your
God,” says the Lord GOD. - Ezekiel 34:31
31. నా గొఱ్ఱెలును
నేను మేపుచున్న
గొఱ్ఱెలు నగు
మీరు మనుష్యులు,
నేను మీ
దేవుడను; ఇదే
ప్రభువైన యెహోవా
వాక్కు.
Especially
for the people of Israel, God assigned (ఏర్పాటుచెయ్యి) Prophets, Judges, Priests and
Kings to guide them in the right path.
Israel
grew as a nation in Egypt and the Exodus was the first time the POI was travelling,
and God did not intend to leave them astray (దారితప్పిన
/ దోవతప్పి) in the wilderness (ఎడారి
/ అరణ్యము).
God
assigned Moses as their leader (నాయకుడు
/ దారి చూపువాడు) to guide the POI to the Promised
Land. (Ps 77:20 You led Your people like
a flock - By the hand of Moses and Aaron. మాషే అహరోనులచేత నీ ప్రజలను మందవలె నడి పించితివి.)
(Ps 80:1...O Shepherd of Israel ఇశ్రాయేలునకు కాపరీ,
You who lead Joseph (Joseph's descendants) like a flock;.., మందవలె యోసేపును (యోసేపు వారసులు) నడిపించువాడా.)
In other
words Moses was Israel’s first Shepherd (మొదటి కాపరి).
And before
Moses left, he made sure the POI were not left without a Shepherd.
Num 27:15-17. 15 Then Moses spoke to the Lord,
saying: 16 “Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over
the congregation, 17 who may go out before them and go in before them, who may
lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be
like sheep which have no shepherd.”

That was when Joshua (యెహోషువ)
was assigned as the Shepherd (కాపరి)
over the flock (మంద / సముహము / గోఱ్ఱెలమంద)
POI.
God always
made sure his flock (గోఱ్ఱెలమంద), as in his people had a shepherd (కాపరి).
There were
great prophets (ప్రవక్తలు) like Moses, Samuel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elisha, Elijah and so on.
There were
high priests (ప్రధాన యాజకులు) from the line of Aaron to guide them through the law,
sacrifices and atonement ప్రాయశ్చిత్తం.
There were
Judges (న్యాయాధిపతులు) like Joshua, Deborah, Gideon, Samson and so on.
There were
kings like King David, Solomon, Asa,
Hezekiah, Josiah and few others.
He called
them the shepherds of Israel. (ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల
కాపరులు)

Asa
was a descendant of David and the third king of the southern kingdom of Judah.
He ruled for forty-one years (1 Kings 15:10) and “did what was good and right
in the eyes of the Lord his God” (2 Chronicles 14:2).Asa’s heart was fully
committed to the Lord all his life” (see also 2 Chronicles 15:17).

The Bible describes Hezekiah as a king who had a close relationship with God, one who
did “what was good and right and faithful before the LORD his God” (2
Chronicles 31:20). He was more zealous for the Lord than any of his
predecessors (2 Kings 18:5). Hezekiah “held fast to the Lord and did not stop
following him; he kept the commands the Lord had given Moses. And the Lord was
with him; he was successful in whatever he undertook” (2 Kings 18:6–7).

2 Kings 22:2 initially presents Josiah by stating, “And he did what was
right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in all the way of David his father,
and he did not turn aside to the right or to the left.”
Though
there were great rulers (పాలకులు) and leaders (నాయకుడు) to guide the POI,
there were
also false prophets (తప్పుడు ప్రవక్తలు), false priests (తప్పుడు ప్రధాన యాజకులు), false kings and false rulers (తప్పుడు పాలకులు)
who
misguided (తప్పుదోవ / తప్పుడు మార్గం) the POI,
which in
return brought them severe consequences తీవ్రమైన పరిణామాలు.

Especially
the POI were misguided (తప్పుదోవ / తప్పుడు మార్గం) in the matter of God.
·
They
did not have faith in God, inspite of seeing and exp all his great miracles.
·
They
worshiped Gods of other nations.
·
They
installed their own idols విగ్రహాలను and worshiped those idols (ఆ విగ్రహాలను పూజించారు).
·
There
was no fear of God in the POI.
Isa 1:21-23
21 How the faithful city has become a
[Unfaithful]harlot! It was full of justice; Righteousness lodged in it, But now
murderers.

Israel’s
leaders were quite spectacularly bad. They were false prophets (2:6,11; 3:5),
violent (3:10), abusive (3:2,3), corrupt (3:11) and deceitful (3:9) thieves
(2:8). Micah’s disgust is evident; his job was to challenge the bad leaders, to
declare their sin (3:8).
Because of the false prophets,
false priests, false rulers, false leaders and false kings, people use to face
the consequences.
Isa 53:6 All of us like sheep have gone
astray, - Each of us has turned to his own way;...
They were
like sheep gone astray. Everyone turned to his own way..

They were like sheep without a
Shepherd
Jer 23
1
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says
the Lord. 2 Therefore thus says the Lord God of Israel against the shepherds
who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not
attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,”
says the Lord.

flocks? 3 You eat the fat and clothe yourselves with the wool; you slaughter
the fatlings, but you do not feed the flock. 4 The weak you have not
strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken,
nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force
and [a]cruelty you have ruled them. 5 So they were scattered because there was
no shepherd; and they became food for all the beasts of the field when they
were scattered. 6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every
high hill; yes, My flock was scattered over the whole face of the earth, and no
one was seeking or searching for them.”

Zechariah 10:2 For the household gods utter
nonsense, and the diviners see lies; they tell false dreams and give empty
consolation. Therefore the people wander
like sheep; they are afflicted for lack of a shepherd.
Because of
these false shepherds of Israel, గొఱ్ఱెలమంద
తిరుగులాడునట్లు - జనులు
తిరుగులాడిరి, కాపరి
లేక బాధనొందిరి.
Even in the time of Jesus, it was
the same situation.
The
chief priests (ప్రధానయాజకులును),
scribes (ప్రజలలోనుండు శాస్త్రులను),
elders (ప్రజల పెద్దలును),
Pharisees (పరిసయ్యులును),
and
Sadducees (సద్దూకయ్యులును)
were supposed to guide the people
in the right way.
They were supposed to give hope and
be compassionate to the people. (based on
the situation they were in. roman rule)
Instead,
they bind heavy burden, hard to bear, and lay them on people shoulders. [Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens, hard
to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders;...] మోయ

They paid
their tithe and neglected the weightier matter like justice and mercy and

Jesus called them "Blind
Guides అంధులైన

Leaders”. (Can a
blind guide another blind) (Matt 15:14)
Jesus called them “hypocrites! వేషధారులైన
శాస్త్రులారా! Serpents, brood of
vipers! సర్పములారా,
సర్పసంతానమా”
[Matt 23:23...For you pay tithe of mint and
anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice
and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others
undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! దోమలేకుండు

Basically
they changed the temple of God into a business

21:13-14. Thats why when Jesus entered the temple of God, he drove out all
those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money
changers and (overturned )the seats of those who sold doves.
And He said to them, “It is written,
‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of
thieves.’ ”

[Luke 6:26 Woe to you when all the people

prophets in the same way.]
The ppl instead of questioning the
false prophets, they spoke well of them and praised them.

the true prophets sent by God.
Matt 23:34 Therefore, indeed, I send you
prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and
some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to

This Good Shepherd suffered for us
Suffering death.

As prophesied
in Zech 13:7… Strike the Shepherd,

Hence the one who says "I am the Good Shepherd / నేను గొఱ్ఱెలకు మంచి కాపరిని ",
also says “I am the resurrection and the life / పునరుత్థానమును జీవమును నేనే".
[Jesus said to her, “I am the
resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though
they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe
this?” John 11:25-26]
Matt 26:32 But after I have been raised, I
will go before you to Galilee.” 32. నేను లేచిన

Jesus
gathered his disciples again.
Not only
his disciples or the Jews but he is gathering us all together.
Jn 10:3-4...he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and

leads them out [to the pastures and still water]. వాటిని

That’s why
Jesus says, leave the fishing nets and follow me. Ill make you fisher of men. ఆయన

back.
History
tells us these words were said by believer, when he was being persecuted,
because he tuned to Christ.

He was
asked to give up Christ, for his children and wife’s life, but he did not.
His
children and wife were killed in front of his eyes and he was too.
This
created a great revival in that place, and many people accepted Christ as their
Savior.
These
words were also attributed to Indian
missionary Sadhu Sundar Singh.

While we accept that Jesus is our
Shepherd, he is asking us to be cautious about the few people.

[Acts

These people are neither the shepherd (గొఱ్ఱెల
కాపరికాడు) nor the owner (యజమాని) of the sheep (గొఱ్ఱెలు

When the
flock is in danger (ప్రమాదం

/ హాని), they desert the flock and run away (గొఱ్ఱెలను
విడిచిపెట్టి పారిపోవును).
They
scatter the sheep. గొఱ్ఱెలను

They are
not concerned about the safety of the sheep. గొర్రెల

They do
not enter into the sheepfold through the door, but climb up from some other

The thief

Even after all this discussion (చర్చ),
the Jewish leaders still rejected (తిరస్కరించు)

do not believe Me [so you do not trust and follow Me] because you are not My

12 Spies
12 Spies – The people of Israel supported
the 10 spies who gave false report about the land of Canaan. Joshua and Caleb
had confidence in God. The people of Israel, supported the wrong spies hence
were punished for 40 years wilderness
and not entering into the Promised Land.
Joshua - From the tribe of Ephraim,
Hoshea the son of Nun
Num 13:6
Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son
of Jephunneh.
Num 32:12 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed the LORD.
Numbers 27:18 So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is
the Spirit, and lay your hand on him.
Joshua 24:15 And if it is evil in your eyes to
serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your
fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in
whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Deut 1:36 Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give
the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly
followed the LORD.
Joshua 14:8 Nevertheless my brethren that went
up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
Josh 14:14 Hebron therefore became the
inheritance of Caleb the son of
Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.
Num 13:30 Caleb told the people to be quiet and listen to Moses. Caleb said, “Let’s go now and
take possession of the land. We should be more than able to conquer it.”
Num 14:23 None of those who treat me with
contempt will see it! 24 But because my servant Caleb has a different attitude and has
wholeheartedly followed me, I’ll bring him to the land he already
explored. His descendants will possess it.
Num 13
27 This is
what they reported to Moses: “We went to the land where you sent us. It really
is a land flowing with milk and honey. Here’s some of its fruit. 28 But the
people who live there are strong, and the cities have walls and are very large.
We even saw the descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites live in the Negev.
The Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the mountain region. And the
Canaanites live along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and all along the
Jordan River.”
30 Caleb
told the people to be quiet and listen to Moses. Caleb said, “Let’s go now and
take possession of the land. We should be more than able to conquer it.”
31 But the
men who had gone with him said, “We can’t attack those people! They’re too
strong for us!” 32 So they began to
spread lies among the Israelites about the land they had explored. They
said, “The land we explored is one that
devours those who live there. All the people we saw there are very tall. 33
We saw Nephilim there. (The descendants of Anak are Nephilim.) We felt as small
as grasshoppers, and that’s how we must have looked to them.”
Num 14

Immediately, Moses and Aaron bowed with their faces touching the ground in
front of the whole community of Israel assembled there. 6 At the same time, two
of those who had explored the land, Joshua (son of Nun) and Caleb (son of
Jephunneh), tore their clothes in despair. 7 They said to the whole community of Israel, “The land we explored
is very good. 8 If the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us into this land
and give it to us. This is a land flowing with milk and honey! 9 Don’t rebel
against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. We will devour
them like bread. They have no protection, and the Lord is with us. So don’t be afraid of them.”
10 But
when the whole community of Israel talked about stoning Moses and Aaron to
death, they all saw the glory of the Lord shining at the tent of meeting.

23 None of
those who treat me with contempt will see it! 24 But because my servant Caleb
has a different attitude and has wholeheartedly followed me, I’ll bring him to
the land he already explored. His descendants will possess it.

30 I
raised my hand and swore an oath to give you this land to live in. But none of
you will enter it except Caleb (son of Jephunneh) and Joshua (son of Nun).
…
36 So the
men Moses sent to explore the land died in front of the Lord from a plague. 37
They died because they had returned and made the whole community complain about
Moses by spreading lies about the land. [c] 38 Of all the men who went to
explore the land, only Joshua (son of Nun) and Caleb (son of Jephunneh)
survived.
Num 16 Rebellion
Against Moses and Aaron / Korah’s Rebellion
Korah...and they rose up before Moses
with some of the children of Israel, two
hundred and fifty leaders of the congregation, representatives of the
congregation, men of renown.
3 They gathered together against Moses and
Aaron, and said to them, “You [a]take too much upon yourselves, for all the congregation is holy, every one
of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above
the assembly of the Lord?”
...
12 And
Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, but they said, “We will
not come up! 13 Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land
flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should keep
acting like a prince over us? 14 Moreover you have not brought us into a land
flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards.
Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up!”
...
31 Now it
came to pass, as he finished speaking all these words, that the ground split apart under them, 32 and the earth opened its
mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men with Korah,
with all their goods. 33 So they and
all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth closed over them,
and they perished from among the assembly.
...
35 And a fire came out from the Lord and consumed
the two hundred and fifty men who were offering incense.
Even then the people of Israel did
not believe.
God punished them with Plague.
Moses had to offer a sacrifice, but
by that time 14000 people died.
Jeroboam
1 Kings 11:32
Jeroboam chosen as King
32...I have chosen out of all the tribes of
Israel), 33 because [g]they have forsaken Me, and worshiped Ashtoreth the
goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god
of the people of Ammon, and have not
walked in My ways to do what is right in My eyes and keep My statutes and My
judgments, as did his father David.

Then it shall be, if you heed all that I
command you, walk in My ways, and do what is right in My sight, to keep My
statutes and My commandments, as My servant David did, then I will be with you
and build for you an enduring house, as I built for David, and will give Israel
to you.

Jeroboam’s Idolatry
25
Jeroboam built Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim and lived there. From
there he went out and built Penuel. 26 Jeroboam said to himself, “The way
things are going now, the kingdom might return to the house of David. 27 If these people regularly go to offer
sacrifices in the Lord’s temple in Jerusalem, the heart of these people will
return to their lord, Rehoboam king of Judah. They will murder me and go
back to the king of Judah.” 28 So the king sought advice.
Then
he made two golden calves, and he
said to the people, “Going to Jerusalem
is too difficult for you. Israel, here is your God[a] who brought you out of
the land of Egypt.” 29 He set up one
in Bethel, and put the other in Dan. 30 This led to sin; the people walked in
procession before one of the calves all the way to Dan.
31
Jeroboam also built shrines on the high
places and set up priests from every class of people who were not Levites.
32 Jeroboam made a festival in the eighth month on the fifteenth day of the
month, like the festival in Judah. He offered sacrifices on the altar; he made
this offering in Bethel to sacrifice to the calves he had set up. He also
stationed the priests in Bethel for the high places he had set up. 33 He
offered sacrifices on[c] the altar he had set up in Bethel on the fifteenth day
of the eighth month. He chose this month on his own. He made a festival for the
Israelites, offered sacrifices on the altar, and burned incense.

Kings 13:33 After all this Jeroboam did
not repent of his evil way but again set up priests for the high places
from every class of people. He ordained whoever so desired it, and they became
priests of the high places.

Consequences for Jeroboam’s sin

Go tell Jeroboam, thus says Adonai, God of Israel: ‘I raised you up from among
the people and made you leader over My people Israel. 8 I tore the kingdom away
from the house of David and gave it you. Yet you have not been like My servant
David who kept My commandments and followed Me with all his heart, doing only
what was right in My eyes. 9 Instead you
have done more evil than all who were before you, and have gone and made
yourself other gods—molten images to vex Me—and have cast Me behind your back.
10
Therefore, I am about to bring evil on the house of Jeroboam. I will cut off to
Jeroboam even one man, bond and free, in Israel. I will burn up the house of
Jeroboam as one burns the dung until it is all gone. 11 Anyone who belongs to
Jeroboam and dies in the city, the dogs will eat, and anyone who dies in the
field, the birds of the sky will eat. For Adonai has spoken it.

Adonai will strike Israel until it sways like a reed in the water. He will
uproot Israel from this good land that He gave to their fathers, and will
scatter them beyond the River, because they have made their Asherah poles,
provoking Adonai. 16 So He will give up Israel because of the sins of Jeroboam
which he committed, and caused Israel to commit.”
John 8:24 I told you that you would die in
your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins."
