Every
year our church conducts VBS in the summer for our Sunday School Children.
We all
know that.
This year
my daughter couldn’t attend, but she attended the VBS last year.
She was
taught a song about David and Goliath.
That song
says David hits Goliath with a stone.
So that
song got stuck in her mind, and she build a habit of collecting stones.
Wherever
she goes, she keeps collecting stones. Small stones.
In the
Car – stones.
In the
toys box – Stones.
Kitchen
shelfs – Stones.
Even in
the bed room – Stones.
In the OT
this one of the very famous incidents which happened in history which is
written in 1Sam 17 chapter.
Everyone
knows this incident, especially Sunday school children.
It’s
about a shepherd boy David and strong soldier who was a champion called
Goliath.
Well
today it’s not about David and Goliath, but there is one thing I want to bring
to your notice.
What was
the reaction when Goliath saw David?
1Sam 17: 43
So the Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?”
43 ఫిలిప్తీయుడు–కఱ్ఱ తీసికొని నీవు నా మీదికి వచ్చుచున్నావే, నేను కుక్కనా?
Obviously!
· Goliath was a champion. గొల్యాతు అను శూరుడొకడు v4-7. (గొల్యాతు అను శూరుడు)
· height was six cubits and a span.అతడు ఆరుమూళ్లజేనెడు ఎత్తుమనిషి. roughly 9 feet 9 inches (2.97 meters)
· He had a bronze helmet on his head, అతని తలమీద రాగి శిరస్త్రాణముండెను
· he was [clothed with scaled body
armor]armed with a coat of mail, అతడు యుద్ధకవచము ధరించియుండెను
·
the
weight of the coat was five thousand shekels (45 kgs) of bronze. ఆ కవచము అయిదు వేల తులముల రాగి యెత్తుగలది.
· he had bronze armor on his legs అతని కాళ్లకు రాగి కవచమును
· a bronze javelin between his
shoulders. అతని భుజములమధ్యను రాగి బల్లెమొకటి యుండెను.
· Now the staff of his spear was like a
weaver’s beam, అతని యీటెకఱ్ఱ నేతగాని దోనె అంత పెద్దది;

his
iron spearhead weighed six hundred shekels (5-12 kgs); అతని యీటెకొన ఆరువందల తులముల యినుము ఎత్తుగలది.
· and a shield-bearer went before him. ఒకడు డాలును మోయుచు అతని ముందర పోవుచుండెను. (a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. నీవు కత్తియు ఈటెయు బల్లెమును ధరించుకొని - v45)
And
David:
He was not a
soldier or a warrior.
He was a
shepherd boy.
Jesse had 8
sons. The first 3 sons followed King Saul to the battle.
David was
the youngest.

Goliath also
accepts the same thing in v42… అతడు బాలుడై యెఱ్ఱటివాడును రూపసియునై యుండుట చూచి
King Saul
says - He was a young boy. 1Sam 17:33.
నీవు బాలుడవు
వాడు బాల్యమునుండి యుద్ధాభ్యాసము చేసినవాడని
నీకు బలము చాలదు;
David did
not wear any armor (యుద్ధవస్త్రములను)
David did
not wear any helmet (రాగి శిరస్త్రాణ)
David was
not clothed with a coat of mail (యుద్ధకవచము)
David did
not have a sword, spear or a javline (కత్తియు ఈటెయు బల్లెమును)
His
weapons were:
40 Then he
took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from
the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his
sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine.
40 తన కఱ్ఱ చేతపట్టుకొని
యేటి లోయలోనుండి అయిదు నున్నని రాళ్లను ఏరుకొని - తనయొద్దనున్న చిక్కములో నుంచుకొని
వడిసెల చేతపట్టుకొని
ఆ ఫిలిష్తీయుని చేరువకు పోయెను.
41 So the
Philistine came, and began drawing near to David, and the man who bore the
shield went before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked about and saw David,
he disdained[d] him; for he was only a youth, ruddy and good-looking. 43 So the
Philistine said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And
the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 44 And the Philistine said to David,
“Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts
of the field!”
41 డాలు మోయువాడు తనకు ముందు నడువగా

అతడు బాలుడై … యుండుట చూచి
43 ఫిలిప్తీయుడు–కఱ్ఱ తీసికొని నీవు నా మీదికి వచ్చుచున్నావే, నేను కుక్కనా? అని దావీదుతో చెప్పి తన దేవతల పేరట దావీదును శపించెను.
We all know
how incident ended.
David
defeats Goliath.
A shepherd
boy defeated a great and strong warrior/soldier.

11 This is
the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief
cornerstone.’
11 ఇల్లు కట్టువారైన మీరు తృణీకరించిన రాయి ఆయనే; ఆ రాయి మూలకు తలరాయి ఆయెను.
12 Nor is
there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given
among men by which we must be saved.”

వారు యేసుతోకూడ ఉండినవారని గుర్తెరిగిరి.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and
perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled.
13 వారు పేతురు యోహానుల ధైర్యమును చూచినప్పుడు వారు విద్యలేని పామరులని (సామాన్యులని) గ్రహించి ఆశ్చర్యపడి, వారు యేసుతోకూడ ఉండినవారని గుర్తెరిగిరి.
This reminds
us what Paul says to church of Corinth – 1 Cor 1:27
దేవుడు
- లోకరీతిని (బలవంతులైనవారిని) జ్ఞానులైనను, ఘనులైనను, గొప్ప వంశమువారైనను అనేకులు పిలువబడలేదు గాని...
దేవుడు
- లోకములో బలహీనులైనవారిని దేవుడు ఏర్పరచుకొనియున్నాడు.
1Cor 1:27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world
to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to
put to shame the things which are mighty;
26 సహోదరులారా, మిమ్మును పిలిచిన పిలుపును చూడుడి. మీలో లోకరీతిని జ్ఞానులైనను, ఘనులైనను, గొప్ప వంశమువారైనను అనేకులు పిలువబడలేదు గాని 27-29 ఏ శరీరియు దేవుని యెదుట అతిశయింపకుండునట్లు, జ్ఞానులను సిగ్గుపరచుటకు లోకములోనుండు వెఱ్ఱివారిని దేవుడు ఏర్పరచుకొనియున్నాడు. బలవంతులైనవారిని సిగ్గుపరచుటకు లోకములో బలహీనులైనవారిని దేవుడు ఏర్పరచుకొనియున్నాడు. ఎన్నికైనవారిని వ్యర్థము చేయుటకు లోకములో నీచులైనవారిని, తృణీకరింప బడినవారిని, ఎన్నికలేనివారిని దేవుడు ఏర్పరచుకొని యున్నాడు. 30 అయితే ఆయన మూలముగా మీరు క్రీస్తుయేసునందున్నారు.
Almost the
similar thing we are going to discuss from the books of Judges.
After the
POI, came out of Egypt and travelled 40 years through out the wilderness, they
reached the Promised land.
Moses
mentions the main rule to be blessed in the Promised Land.
Which
applies to all of us and not only to the POI.
Duet
30:15-18. 15 “See, I
have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command
you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His
commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply;
and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.
15 చూడుము; నేడు నేను జీవమును మేలును మరణమును కీడును నీ యెదుట ఉంచియున్నాను.

your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship
other gods and serve them, 18 I announce to you today that you shall surely
perish; you shall not prolong your days in the
land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess.
17 అయితే నీ హృదయము
తిరిగిపోయి, నీవు విననొల్లక యీడ్వబడినవాడవై అన్యదేవతలకు నమస్కరించి పూజించినయెడల
18 మీరు నిశ్చయముగా నశించిపోవుదురనియు, స్వాధీనపరచుకొనుటకు యొర్దానును దాటపోవుచున్న దేశములో మీరు అనేకదినములు ఉండరనియు నేడు నేను నీకు తెలియజెప్పుచున్నాను.

After Moses,
Joshua tried to lead the people in the same way.
We can
see in
Joshua
24:24 And the people
said to Joshua, “The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!”
24 అందుకు జనులు–
మన దేవుడైన యెహోవానే సేవించెదము,
ఆయన మాటయే విందుమని యెహోషువతో చెప్పిరి.

the death of Joshua and the elders of his time, situation changed.
Judges 2:10
When all that generation had [e]been gathered to their fathers, another
generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor
the work which He had done for Israel.

Israel’s
Unfaithfulness
11 Then the
children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served the Baals; 12
and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out
of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the
people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked
the Lord to anger. 13 They forsook the Lord and served [f]Baal and the
[g]Ashtoreths. 14 And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He
delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and He sold
them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer
stand before their enemies. 15 Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was
against them for calamity, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn to
them. And they were greatly distressed.

Its not only
about idol worshipping.
They
disobeyed God’s commandment.
For us to
understand – they disobeyed the Bible.
They sinned
against God.

the promised made to Abraham.
Judges 2
The Lord
raised up Judges.
16
Nevertheless, the Lord raised up judges who delivered them out of the hand of
those who plundered them. 17 Yet they would not listen to their judges, but
they played the harlot with other gods, and bowed down to them. They turned
quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the commandments
of the Lord; they did not do so. 18 And when the Lord raised up judges for
them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their
enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their
groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them.
16 ఆ కాలమున యెహోవావారికొరకు న్యాయాధిపతులను పుట్టించెను.
Purpose of the
Judges - వీరు దోచుకొనువారి చేతిలోనుండి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను రక్షించిరి.
అయితే వారు ఇంక న్యాయాధిపతుల మాట వినక 17
తమపితరులు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞలను అనుసరించి నడిచిన మార్గమునుండి త్వరగా తొలగి పోయి
యితర దేవతలతో వ్యభిచరించి
వాటికి నమస్క రించిరి;
తమపితరులు ఆ ఆజ్ఞలను అనుసరించినట్లువారు నడవకపోయిరి.
18 తమ శత్రువులు తమ్మును బాధింపగా
వారు విడిచిన నిట్టూర్పులు యెహోవా విని
సంతాపపడి వారికొరకు న్యాయాధిపతులను పుట్టించి,
ఆయా న్యాయాధిపతులకు తోడైయుండి
వారి దినములన్నిటను వారిశత్రువుల చేతులలోనుండి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను రక్షించెను.
19 And it
came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they
reverted and behaved more corruptly than their fathers, by following
other gods, to serve them and bow down to them. They did not cease from their
own doings nor from their stubborn way.
19 ఒక్కొక్క న్యాయాధిపతి చనిపోగా
వారు వెనుకకు తిరిగి
యితర దేవతలను అనుసరించి పూజించుచు
వాటికి సాగిలపడుచు
ఉండుటవలన తమ క్రియలలోనేమి
తమ మూర్ఖప్రవర్తనలోనేమి
దేనిని విడువక
తమ పూర్వికులకంటె మరి మిగుల చెడ్డవారైరి.
20 Then the
anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He said, “Because this nation has
transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not heeded My
voice, 21 I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which
Joshua left when he died, 22 so that through them I may test Israel, whether
they will keep the ways of the Lord, to walk in them as their fathers kept
them, or not.” 23 Therefore the Lord left those nations, without driving them
out immediately; nor did He deliver them into the hand of Joshua.
20 కాబట్టి యెహోవా కోపాగ్ని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద మండగా ఆయన ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను–ఈ ప్రజలు నా మాట వినక, వీరి పితరులతో నేను చేసిన నిబంధనను మీరుదురు 21 గనుక నేను నియమించిన విధిననుసరించి వారి పితరులు నడిచినట్లు వీరును యెహోవా

22 యెహోషువ చనిపోయిన కాలమున శేషించిన జనములలో ఏ జనమును వారి యెదుటనుండి నేను వెళ్లగొట్టను. 23 అందుకు యెహోవా ఆ జనములను యెహోషువ చేతి కప్పగింపకయు శీఘ్రముగా వెళ్లగొట్ట కయు మాని వారిని ఉండనిచ్చెను.
Rebellion,
Punishment, Deliverance it happens times in the book of judges.
Duration of the period of Judges is 350 years.
14 judges which also includes a woman
– not chosen by men but by God.
Today we are going to talk about one
of the judges in the 6th chapter.
Judges 6
Midianites
Oppress Israel
1 Then the
children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord.
1 ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు యెహోవా దృష్టికి దోషులైనందున యెహోవా యేడేండ్లు వారిని మిద్యానీయుల కప్ప గించెను.
Evil - Judges 3:5 Thus the children of Israel dwelt among the
Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the
Jebusites. 6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their
daughters to their sons; and they served their gods.
6పెరిజ్జీయులు హివ్వీయులు ఎబూసీయులను జనులమధ్య నివసించుచు వారి కుమార్తెలను పెండ్లిచేసికొనుచు, వారి కుమారులకు తమ కుమార్తెల నిచ్చుచు, వారి దేవతలను పూజించుచు వచ్చిరి
So the Lord
delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years, 2 and the hand of
Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of
Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves (1Sam 13:6, Heb 11:38), and the strongholds which
are in the mountains. 3 So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would
come up; also Amalekites (Judg
3:13) and the people of the East would come up against them. 4 Then they
would encamp against them (Lev
26:16, Deut 28:3033) and destroy the produce of the earth as far as
Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey. 5
For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as
numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were [a]without number; and
they would enter the land to destroy it. 6 So Israel was greatly impoverished
because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.

మీద హెచ్చాయెను గనుక

ఒక గొఱ్ఱెనుగాని యెద్దునుగాని గాడిదనుగాని జీవనసాధనమైన మరిదేనినిగాని
ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు ఉండనీయలేదు.
5 వారును వారి ఒంటెలును లెక్కలేకయుండెను.
6 దేశమును పాడుచేయుటకు వారు దానిలోనికి వచ్చిరి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు మిద్యానీయులవలన మిక్కిలి హీనదశకు వచ్చినప్పుడు వారు యెహోవాకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టిరి.

was Gideon threshing the wheat?
In a
winepress.
We all know
how a winepress works.
No one would
thresh wheat in a winepress, but Gideon was why?

Gideon was
not sharping his weapons/sword.
He was not
sharpening his arrows.
He was not
ready with his helmet, breastplate and shield.
mighty man

Gideon
threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.
He was
afraid and so was hiding and was not fighting.
And God
choose Gideon.
For me it
looks like a bad choice.

We try to
understand God with our human minds and physical appearance, and we will never
be able to understand his ways.
God had
plans for Gideon.
Though
Gideon is not a warrior.
But God had
plans for Gideon to win a war over the whole army of the Midianites.
Not only for
Gideon, but God has also plans for us to.
For God
says - Jeremiah 29:11

All we have to do
is ask God what his will for us is.
And depend on
God.

is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

this has been happening
Gideon
was so frustrated – he immediately started complaining.
13 Gideon
said to Him, “O [c]my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this
happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our
fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But
now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the
Midianites.”

Gideon is
blaming the Lord for the situation.
Gideon is
charging God with wrong.
But we all
know the reason why the POI are in this situation.

the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. So the Lord delivered
them into the hand of Midian for seven years, 2 and the hand of Midian
prevailed against Israel…

the time, we do evil in the sight of the Lord and blame God for the

There
might many of us here, like Gideon blaming God for our situations.
Or some
might even say God is testing me.

desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown,
gives birth to death.

Galatians
6:7, which states:
"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, he will
also reap."

So the POI were facing this situation, because of their sins.
We need to check ourselves too.
First Gideon was complaining against God.

Every time
you and me sin against God, it is not God who forsakes us, but we forsook God.
God never
forsook Israel, but Israel forsook God.
Isaiah 49
14 “Zion said, ‘The Lord has abandoned me,
the Lord has forgotten me.’
15 Can a woman forget her baby who nurses at her breast?
Can she withhold compassion from the child she has borne?
Even if mothers[al] were to forget,
I could never forget you!

your situations, you might be thinking God has forsaken me.

Otherwise,
why would you be in this situation?

But God
promises us in -
Psalm 94:14 For the Lord will not forsake his people; he will not
abandon his heritage;
(We are God’s heritage - Ephesians 1:11 In Him we also were
made [God's] heritage ...)

If
God forsook us, he wouldn’t have sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ to
die for us on the cross for our sins.
Father
forsook His Son JC on the cross, in order to save us from our sins.
But
God never forsook us.

Gideon completed his complaining
14 Then the
Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save
Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?”

What if
you were in Gideon’s place?
What if
you were in Noah’s place?
What if
God asked you to build an ark on dry land, far from sea?
What if
you were in Abraham’s place?
What if
God asked you to leave your father house and relatives and go to the place you
never heard or never knew?
What
would you do?
Would you
have left your home and comfort and follow God to an unknown place, living in
tents.
Would you
have built the ark, which took Noah more than 100 years.
Would you
go to war with the Midianites or stay back complaining against God.

fleece, but on all the ground let there be dew.”
39 అప్పుడు గిద్యోను–నీ కోపము నా మీద మండనియ్యకుము; ఇంకొక మారే ఆ బొచ్చు చేత శోధింప సెలవిమ్ము. నేల అంతటిమీద మంచు పడియుండగా ఆ బొచ్చు మాత్రమే పొడిగా ఉండనిమ్మని దేవునితో అనగా
40 And God
did so that night.
40 ఆ రాత్రి దేవుడు ఆలాగున చేసెను;
God gave
Gideon three signs and said –
7: 9 It
happened on the same night that the Lord said to him, “Arise, go down against
the camp, for I have delivered it into your hand. 9 ఆ రాత్రి యెహోవా అతనితో ఇట్లనెను–నీవు లేచి దండుమీదికి పొమ్ము, నీ చేతికి దాని నప్పగించెదను.
Gideon
was still afraid –
7: 10 పోవుటకు నీకు భయమైనయెడల… God gave him another sign
After

God had to
performs 4 signs to prove his word and build confidence in Gideon.
Its easy
to judge Gideon because he asked God for signs, not once or twice but four
times.
But if
you know his condition, you might give him a chance.
Ill tell
you why.
Now God
asked Gideon to fight a battle with the Midianites.
They army
is numerous.
When
Gideon called the POI to the battle, you know how many people came?
32000
people.
Though it
is not equal to numerous, it’s very less and a number ok to hear for us.
Gideon
must have been at least ok.

But God
had a problem with this number.
7: 2 And the
Lord said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are
too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim
glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.’

twenty-two thousand of the people returned. (ఎవడు భయపడి వణకుచున్నాడో)

32000, 2200 left the battle, because they were afraid.
So Gideon
had 10000 men with him.
Because
of God, 32000 reduced to 10000.
Was God
satisfied with 10000.
Looks
like No.
7: 4 But the
Lord said to Gideon, “The people are still too many;

numerous army.
8: 28 Thus
Midian was subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted their
heads no more. And the country was quiet for forty years in the days of Gideon.

At the transfiguration of Jesus in Luke 9:28-33
28 Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings,
that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 As
He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white
and glistening. 30 And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and
Elijah, 31 who appeared in glory and spoke of His [c]decease which He was about
to accomplish at Jerusalem.

Even today we see people worshiping the idols of the
disciples and Mother Mary or Joseph or Bala Yesu.

In the conversation between the Samaritan Woman and Jesus in
John 4.
19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a
prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in
Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

So what was Paul and Barnabas reaction when people worshipped
them as Gods?
14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they
tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out 15 and saying,
“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as
you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the
living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in
them, 16 who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own
ways. 17 Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did
good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with
food and gladness.” 18 And with these sayings they could scarcely restrain the
multitudes from sacrificing to them.
14 అపొస్తలులైన బర్నబాయు పౌలును ఈ సంగతి విని, తమ వస్త్రములు చించుకొని సమూహములోనికి చొరబడి 15–అయ్యలారా, మీరెందుకీలాగు చేయుచున్నారు? మేము కూడ మీ స్వభావమువంటి స్వభావముగల నరులమే.
మీరు ఈ వ్యర్థమైనవాటిని విడిచి పెట్టి, ఆకాశమును భూమిని సముద్రమును వాటిలోఉండు సమస్తమును సృజించిన జీవముగల దేవునివైపు తిరుగ వలెనని మీకు సువార్త ప్రకటించుచున్నాము.

Acts 10:25-26 Peter Meets Cornelius
25 As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at
his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.”
25 పేతురు లోపలికి రాగా కొర్నేలి అతనిని ఎదుర్కొని అతని పాదములమీదపడి నమస్కారము చేసెను. 26 అందుకు పేతురు–నీవు లేచి నిలువుము, నేను కూడ నరుడనే అని చెప్పి అతని లేవనెత్తి

Remember.
Disciples were also men.
Mary was also a woman.
Joseph is also a man.
Not only them, but everyone also listed in Heb 11 are men.
Men with great faith.
Paul says in Acts 14 - మేము కూడ మీ స్వభావమువంటి స్వభావముగల నరులమే
Peter says in Acts 10 - నేను కూడ నరుడనే
Do you want to worship man?
Do you want to worship creation or the creator?
God does not share His glory.
Isa 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will
not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.
8 యెహోవాను నేనే; ఇదే నా నామము మరి ఎవనికిని
నా మహిమను నేనిచ్చువాడను కాను
నాకు రావలసిన స్తోత్రమును విగ్రహములకు చెందనియ్యను.
Isaiah 48:11 …I will not yield My glory to another.
…నా మహిమను మరి ఎవరికిని నేనిచ్చువాడను కాను.
Acts 4:12 Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no
other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
12 మరి ఎవనివలనను రక్షణ కలుగదు; ఈ నామముననే మనము రక్షణ పొందవలెను గాని, ఆకాశము క్రింద మనుష్యులలో ఇయ్యబడిన మరి ఏ నామమున రక్షణ పొందలేము అనెను.

I
am not trying to degrade the disciples or what they did.
I
am not trying to degrade Jesus’s mother Mary or what she did.
They
are great people in the Bible and are role models for us.
They
are God chosen vessels.
All
the Glory belongs to God.

Can this be applied to the one you sre worshipping?
Think about it.
Psalm 115:1:
"Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give
glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!"

Heb 11th
chapter is a chapter listed with the people of great faith.
And Gideon
made it to the list.

more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and
Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:

Climax
If Gideon was standing here today, what would he tell us
today out of his life lessons.
1.
God does select people based on their physical appearance or
their knowledge or their riches.
God looks at the heart.
1 Sam 16:7 అయితే
యెహోవా సమూయేలుతో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను–అతని రూపమును అతని యెత్తును లక్ష్యపెట్టకుము, మనుష్యులు లక్ష్యపెట్టువాటిని యెహోవా లక్ష్యపెట్టడు; నేను అతని త్రోసివేసి యున్నాను. మనుష్యులు పైరూపమును లక్ష్యపెట్టుదురుగాని యెహోవా హృదయమును లక్ష్యపెట్టును.

Where Fear is, faith and belief does not stay there.
Where doubt is, faith and belief does not stay there.
The cost of fear and doubt is too much.
Out of 32000, 22000 returned back because they were afraid.
Num 13
God sent Moses to release the POI from the salve land of
Egypt.
God performed 10 signs/miracles against the Egyptians.

Only the place where the Egyptians live
effected, but the place where the POI lived were not effected.
·
While cattle of the Egyptians died, not one
cattle of the POI died.
·
While the Egyptians were infected with
infections and diseases, the POI were in good health.
·
While the Egyptians lived in darkness, the POI
lived in light.
A pillar of cloud in the morning, to save them from the sun.
A pillar of fire, to guide them in the darkness.
When they were stuck at the red sea, with mountains on the
either side and the Egyptian army behind, God spoke through His prophet Moses -
Exo 14:13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be
afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will
accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see
again no more forever.
13 అందుకు
మోషే–భయపడకుడి, యెహోవా మీకు నేడు కలుగ జేయు రక్షణను మీరు ఊరక నిలుచుండి చూడుడి; మీరు నేడు చూచిన ఐగుప్తీయులను ఇకమీదట మరి ఎన్నడును చూడరు.
14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your
peace.”
14 యెహోవా
మీ పక్షమున యుద్ధము చేయును, మీరు ఊరకయే యుండవలెనని ప్రజలతో చెప్పెను.
God divided the sea, and the children of Israel shall go on
dry ground through the midst of the sea.
30 So the Lord saved[g] Israel that day out of the hand of
the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the
seashore. 31 Thus Israel saw the great [h]work
which the Lord had done in Egypt; so the people feared the Lord, and
believed the Lord and His servant Moses.

దినమున యెహోవా ఐగుప్తీయుల చేతిలోనుండి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను రక్షించెను. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చచ్చిన ఐగుప్తీయులను సముద్రతీరమున చూచిరి.

In Number 13 – the POI had to had to fight to conquer the
Promised Land.
But they were afraid.
Num 13
27 Then they told him, and said (to Moses and Aaron and all
the congregation of the children of Israel): “We went to the land where you
sent us. It truly [g]flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28
Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are
fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29 The
Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the
Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along
the banks of the Jordan.

అతనికి తెలియపరచినదేమనగా–నీవు మమ్మును పంపిన దేశమునకు వెళ్లితిమి;
అది
పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించు దేశమే; దాని పండ్లు ఇవి.
28 అయితే ఆ దేశములో నివసించు జనులు బలవంతులు;
వారి
పట్టణములు ప్రాకారముగలవి అవి మిక్కిలి గొప్పవి;
మరియు అక్కడ అనాకీయులను చూచితిమి.
29 అమాలేకీయులు
దక్షిణదేశములో నివసించుచున్నారు;
హిత్తీయులు
యెబూసీయులు అమోరీయులు కొండ దేశములో నివసించుచున్నారు;

సముద్రమునొద్దను
యొర్దాను నదీప్రాంతములలోను నివసించుచున్నారని చెప్పిరి.

31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not
able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” 32 And they
gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out,
saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours
its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.
33 There we saw the [h]giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants);
and we were like[i] grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their
sight.”
31 అయితే అతనితోకూడ పోయిన ఆ మనుష్యులు–ఆ జనులు మనకంటె బలవంతులు;
మనము
వారి మీదికి పోజాలమనిరి.
32 మరియు
వారు తాము సంచరించి చూచిన దేశమునుగూర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో చెడ్డ సమాచారము చెప్పి–
మేము
సంచరించి చూచిన దేశము తన నివాసులను భక్షించు దేశము;
దానిలో
మాకు కనబడిన జనులందరు ఉన్నత దేహులు.
33 అక్కడ
నెఫీలీయుల సంబంధులైన అనాకు వంశపు నెఫీలీయులను చూచితిమి;

Num 14
So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried,
and the people wept that night. 2 And all the children of Israel complained
against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we
had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! 3 Why
has the Lord brought us to this land to [a]fall by the sword, that our wives
and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to
Egypt?” 4 So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to
Egypt.”

ఆ సర్వసమాజము ఎలుగెత్తి కేకలు వేసెను; ప్రజలు ఆ రాత్రి యెలుగెత్తి యేడ్చిరి.

సర్వసమాజము–అయ్యో ఐగుప్తులో మేమేల చావ లేదు?

కత్తివాత పడునట్లు యెహోవా మమ్మును ఈ దేశములోనికి ఏల తీసికొని వచ్చెను?
మా భార్యలు మా పిల్లలు కొల్లపోవుదురు;
తిరిగి ఐగుప్తుకు వెళ్లుట మాకు మేలుకాదా? అని వారితో అనిరి.
4 వారు–మనము నాయకుని ఒకని నియమించుకొని ఐగుప్తునకు తిరిగి వెళ్లుదమని ఒకనితో ఒకడు చెప్పుకొనగా

Num 14
6 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh,
who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; 7 and they
spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we
passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8 If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this
land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of
the land, for they[c] are our bread; their protection has departed from
them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.”
6 అప్పుడు
దేశమును సంచరించి చూచినవారిలోనుండిన నూను కుమారుడగు యెహోషువయు యెఫున్నె కుమారుడగు కాలేబును బట్టలు చింపుకొని 7 ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సర్వ సమాజముతో–మేము సంచరించి చూచిన దేశము మిక్కిలి మంచి దేశము. 8 యెహోవా మనయందు ఆనం దించినయెడల ఆ దేశములో మనలను చేర్చి దానిని మన కిచ్చును; అది పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించుదేశము. 9 మెట్టుకు మీరు యెహోవామీద తిరుగబడకుడి, ఆ దేశ ప్రజలకు భయపడకుడి, వారు
మనకు ఆహారమగుదురు, వారి నీడ వారి మీదనుండి తొలగిపోయెను. యెహోవా మనకు తోడై యున్నాడు, వారికి భయపడకుడనిరి.
Num 13:30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses,
and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession,
for we are well able to overcome it.”
కాలేబు
మోషే యెదుట జనులను నిమ్మళ పరచి–మనము నిశ్చయముగా వెళ్లుదుము; దాని స్వాధీనపరచుకొందుము; దాని జయించుటకు మన శక్తి చాలుననెను.
Num 14:10 And all the congregation said to stone them
with stones... ఆ
సర్వసమాజము వారిని రాళ్లతో కొట్టి చంపవలెననగా
24 నా
సేవకుడైన కాలేబు మంచిమనస్సు కలిగి పూర్ణమనస్సుతో నన్ను అనుసరించిన హేతువుచేత అతడు పోయిన దేశములో అతని ప్రవేశపెట్టెదను
Num 14:11 Then the Lord said to Moses: “How long will
these people reject[d] Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the
[e]signs which I have performed among them?
11 యెహోవా–ఎన్నాళ్లవరకు ఈ
ప్రజలు నన్ను అలక్ష్యము చేయుదురు? ఎన్నాళ్లవరకు నేను వారిమధ్యను చేసిన సూచకక్రియలన్నిటిని చూచి నన్ను నమ్మక యుందురు?
Num 14:26 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron,
saying, 27 “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain
against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make
against Me.

విరోధముగా సణుగుచుండు ఈ చెడ్డ సమాజమును నేనెంతవరకు సహింపవలెను?
How long?

అయితే ఆ దేశమును సంచరించి చూచిన మనుష్యులలో నూను కుమారుడగు యెహోషువయు యెఫున్నె కుమారుడగు కాలేబును బ్రదికిరి.)
It is said the Bible says “Fear not” 365 times.
God is reminding you everyday not to fear any mortal,
situations and circumstances.

Asking signs.
This really a very big and deep topic.
If God willing, I will speak some other time.
But I can confirm that God did give a sign.
The empty tomb.
The sign of prophet Jonah.
His resurrection.
Glory belongs to God, not to Man.
Deut
8:17 then you
say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this
wealth.’
18 “And
you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get
wealth,

18 కాగా నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనవలెను.
ఏలయనగా తాను నీ పితరులతో ప్రమాణము చేసినట్లు తన నిబంధనను నేటివలె స్థాపింపవలెనని
మీరు భాగ్యము సంపాదించుకొనుటకై మీకు సామర్థ్యము కలుగజేయువాడు ఆయనే.
