Israel

Abraham > Isaac > Jacob > 70 people into Egypt.

Israel practically grew into a nation in Egypt.

When Israel grew more > Egypt was the first enemy Israel had to handle.

Enemies of Israel

The 7 nations of Canaan. Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Jebusites, Hivites, Perizzites and  
Girgashites. 

Some of the other enemies: Egypt, Syria, Philistines, Babylon, Assyria, Edomites, Ishmaelites…

Who created these enemies?

Judges 3:1-4 God created these enemies.
1 These are the nations the Lord left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan 2 (he did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience): 3 the five rulers of the Philistines, all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites living in the Lebanon mountains from Mount Baal Hermon to Lebo Hamath. 4 They were left to test the Israelites to see whether they would obey the Lord’s commands, which he had given their ancestors through Moses.
1 ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకును కనానీయులకును జరిగినయుద్ధములన్నిటిని చూడనివారందరిని శోధించి 2-4ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల తరతరములవారికి, అనగా పూర్వము ఆ యుద్ధములను ఏ మాత్రమును చూడనివారికి యుద్ధముచేయ నేర్పునట్లు యెహోవా ఉండనిచ్చిన జనములు ఇవి. ఫిలిష్తీయుల అయిదుగురు సర్దారుల జనులును, కనానీయులందరును, సీదోనీయులును, బయల్హెర్మోను మొదలుకొని హమాతునకు పోవు మార్గమువరకు లెబానోను కొండలో నివసించు హివ్వీయులును, యెహోవా మోషేద్వారా తమ తండ్రుల కిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞలను వారు అనుసరింతురో లేదో తెలిసికొనునట్లు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను పరిశోధించుటకై ఆ జనములను ఉండనిచ్చెను.౹

How strong were these enemies?

Deuteronomy 7: 1 …seven nations larger and more powerful than you…
1నీవు స్వాధీనపరచుకొనబోవు దేశములోనికి నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నిన్ను చేర్చి బహుజనములను, అనగా సంఖ్యకును బలమునకును నిన్ను మించిన హిత్తీయులు గిర్గాషీయులు అమోరీయులు కనానీయులు పెరిజ్జీయులు హివ్వీయులు యెబూసీయులను ఏడు జనములను నీ యెదుటనుండి వెళ్లగొట్టిన తరువాత 

Deuteronomy 7:7 ….you were the smallest nation on earth.
7 మీరు సర్వజనముల కంటె విస్తారజనమని యెహోవా మిమ్మును ప్రేమించి మిమ్మును ఏర్పరచుకొనలేదు. సమస్త జనములకంటె మీరు లెక్కకు తక్కువేగదా.౹

Spies were sent > Numbers 13: 28, 31, 32, 33
28 అయితే ఆ దేశములో నివసించు జనులు బలవంతులు; వారి పట్టణములు ప్రాకారముగలవి అవి మిక్కిలి గొప్పవి; మరియు అక్కడ అనాకీయులను చూచితిమి.౹ 
31 అయితే అతనితోకూడ పోయిన ఆ మనుష్యులు–ఆ జనులు మనకంటె బలవంతులు; మనము వారి మీదికి పోజాలమనిరి.౹
32 మరియు వారు తాము సంచరించి చూచిన దేశమునుగూర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో చెడ్డ సమాచారము చెప్పి–మేము సంచరించి చూచిన దేశము తన నివాసులను భక్షించు (మ్రింగివేయు) దేశము; దానిలో మాకు కనబడిన జనులందరు ఉన్నత దేహులు.౹ 
33 అక్కడ నెఫీలీయుల సంబంధులైన అనాకు వంశపు నెఫీలీయులను చూచితిమి; మా దృష్టికి మేము మిడతలవలె ఉంటిమి, వారి దృష్టికిని అట్లే ఉంటిమనిరి.

God encouraged Israel to war against their enemies.

Deuteronomy 20:4
4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
4 వణకకుడి, వారి ముఖము చూచి బెదరకుడి, మీకొరకు మీ శత్రువులతో యుద్ధము చేసి మిమ్మును రక్షించువాడు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాయే.౹ 

Exodus 14:14
14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
14 యెహోవా మీ పక్షమున యుద్ధము చేయును, మీరు ఊరకయే యుండవలెనని ప్రజలతో చెప్పెను.

Gods makes a covenant with the people of Israel.

Exodus 34:11-16
11 Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 12 Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you. 13 Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.[That is, wooden symbols of the goddess Asherah] 14 Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
15 “Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices. 16 And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same.
11 నేడు నేను నీ కాజ్ఞా పించుదాని ననుసరించి నడువుము. ఇదిగో నేను అమోరీ యులను కనానీయులను హిత్తీయులను పెరిజ్జీయులను హివ్వీయులను యెబూసీయులను నీ యెదుటనుండి వెళ్ల గొట్టెదను.౹ 12 నీవు ఎక్కడికి వెళ్లుచున్నావో ఆ దేశపు నివాసులతో నిబంధన చేసికొనకుండ జాగ్రత్తపడుము. ఒకవేళ అది నీకు ఉరికావచ్చును.౹ 13 కాబట్టి మీరు వారి బలిపీఠములను పడగొట్టి, వారి బొమ్మలను పగులగొట్టి ,వారి దేవతాస్తంభములను పడగొట్టవలెను.౹ 14 ఏలయనగా వేరొక దేవునికి నమస్కారము చేయవద్దు, ఆయన నామము రోషముగల యెహోవా; ఆయన రోషముగల దేవుడు.౹ 15 ఆ దేశపు నివాసులతో నిబంధనచేసికొనకుండ జాగ్రత్త పడుము; వారు ఇతరుల దేవతలతో వ్యభిచరించి ఆ దేవతలకు బలి అర్పించుచున్నప్పుడు ఒకడు నిన్ను పిలిచినయెడల నీవు వాని బలిద్రవ్యమును తినకుండ చూచుకొనుము.౹ 16 మరియు నీవు నీ కుమారులకొరకు వారి కుమా ర్తెలను పుచ్చుకొనునెడల వారి కుమార్తెలు తమ దేవతలతో వ్యభిచరించి నీ కుమారులను తమ దేవతలతో వ్యభిచరింప చేయుదురేమో.౹ 

Exodus 20:3 
3 “You shall have no other gods before[Or besides] me.
3 నేను తప్ప వేరొక దేవుడు నీకు ఉండకూడదు.

Isaiah 42:8
8 “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.
8 యెహోవాను నేనే; ఇదే నా నామము! మరి ఎవనికిని నా మహిమను నేనిచ్చువాడను కాను. నాకు రావలసిన స్తోత్రమును విగ్రహములకు చెందనియ్యను.

God gave all their enemies into their hands.

Joshua 21:44
44 The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands. 45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.
44 యెహోవావారి పితరులతో ప్రమాణముచేసిన వాటన్నిటి ప్రకారము అన్నిదిక్కులయందు వారికి విశ్రాంతి కలుగజేసెను. యెహోవావారి శత్రువులనందరిని వారి చేతి కప్పగించియుండెను గనుక వారిలో నొకడును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులయెదుట నిలువలేకపోయెను. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు సెలవిచ్చిన మాటలన్నిటిలో ఏదియు తప్పియుండలేదు, అంతయు నెరవేరెను.

There was fear among the enemies.

2 Chronicles 20:29
29 The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel. 
29 ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల శత్రువులతో యెహోవా యుద్ధము చేసెనని దేశముల రాజ్యముల వారందరు వినగా దేవుని భయము వారందరిమీదికి వచ్చెను.౹ 

• As long as the People of Israel kept Gods covenant, God gave them victory

People of Israel started disobeying God.

Joshua 7:11
11 Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. 
11 ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు పాపము చేసియున్నారు. నేను వారితో చేసిన నిబంధనను వారు మీరియున్నారు. శపితమైన దాని కొంత తీసికొని, దొంగిలి బొంకి తమ సామానులో దాని ఉంచుకొనియున్నారు.౹

1 Kings 11:1-8 (King Solomon sinned against God)
1 King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. 2 They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. 3 He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray. 4 As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. 5 He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 6 So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done. 7 On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites. 8 He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.
1 మోయాబీయులు ఎదోమీయులు అమ్మోనీయులు సీదోనీయులు హిత్తీయులు అను జనులు మీ హృదయములను తమ దేవతలతట్టు త్రిప్పుదురు గనుక వారితో సహవాసము చేయకూడదనియు, వారిని మీతో సహవాసము చేయనియ్యకూడదనియు యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడు. అయితే రాజైన సొలొమోను ఫరో కుమార్తెనుగాక ఆ జనులలో ఇంక అనేక మంది పరస్త్రీలను మోహించి 2 కామాతురత గలవాడై వారిని ఉంచుకొనుచు వచ్చెను.౹ 3 అతనికి ఏడు వందలమంది రాజకుమార్తెలైన భార్యలును మూడువందలమంది ఉప పత్నులును కలిగియుండిరి; అతని భార్యలు అతని హృదయమును త్రిప్పివేసిరి.౹ 4 సొలొమోను వృద్ధుడైనప్పుడు అతని భార్యలు అతని హృదయమును ఇతర దేవతలతట్టు త్రిప్పగా అతని తండ్రియైన దావీదు హృదయమువలె అతని హృదయము దేవుడైన యెహోవాయెడల యథార్థము కాక పోయెను.౹ 5 సొలొమోను అష్తారోతు అను సీదోనీయుల దేవతను మిల్కోము అను అమ్మోనీయుల హేయమైన దేవతను అనుసరించి నడిచెను.౹ 6 ఈ ప్రకారము సొలొమోను యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడు నడత నడచి తన తండ్రియైన దావీదు అనుసరించినట్లు యథార్థహృదయముతో యెహోవాను అనుసరింపలేదు.౹ 7 సొలొమోను కెమోషు అను మోయాబీయుల హేయమైన దేవతకును మొలెకు అను అమ్మోనీయుల హేయమైన దేవతకును యెరూషలేము ఎదుటనున్న కొండమీద బలిపీఠములను కట్టించెను.౹ 8 తమ దేవతలకు ధూపము వేయుచు బలులనర్పించుచుండిన పరస్త్రీలైన తన భార్యల నిమిత్తము అతడు ఈలాగు చేసెను.

2 Kings 17:15 (They worshiped worthless idols…)
15 They rejected his decrees and the covenant he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols and themselves became worthless. They imitated the nations around them although the Lord had ordered them, “Do not do as they do.”
15 వారు ఆయన కట్టడలను, తమపితరులతో ఆయన చేసిన నిబంధనను, ఆయన తమకు నిర్ణ యించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రమును విసర్జించి, వ్యర్థమైనదాని అనుసరించుచు, వ్యర్థులై–వారి వాడుకలచొప్పున మీరు చేయకూడదని యెహోవా తమకు సెలవిచ్చిన తమ చుట్టునున్న ఆ జనుల మర్యాదల ననుసరించి వారివంటివారైరి.౹

Judges 2:11-13 (Israel began to serve Baals…)
11 Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord and served the Baals. 12 They forsook the Lord, the God of their ancestors, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples around them. They aroused the Lord’s anger 13 because they forsook him and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.
11 ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు యెహోవా కన్నులయెదుట కీడుచేసి, ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి వారిని రప్పించిన తమపితరుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాను విసర్జించి బయలుదేవతలను పూజించి 12 తమ చుట్టునుండు జనుల దేవతలలో ఇతరదేవతలను అనుసరించి వాటికి నమస్కరించి యెహోవాకు కోపము పుట్టించిరి.౹ 13 వారు యెహోవాను విసర్జించి బయలును అష్తారోతును పూజించిరి.౹

Jeremiah 11:10
10 They have returned to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant I made with their ancestors. 
10 ఏదనగా వారు నా మాటలు విననొల్లకపోయిన తమపితరుల దోషచర్యలను జరుప తిరిగియున్నారు; మరియు వారు అన్యదేవతలను పూజించుటకై వాటిని అనుసరించుచు, వారి పితరులతో నేను చేసిన నిబంధనను ఇశ్రాయేలు వంశస్థులును యూదావంశస్థులును భంగము చేసియున్నారు.౹

God punishes Israel.

Judges 2:14
14 In his anger against Israel the Lord gave them into the hands of raiders who plundered them. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, whom they were no longer able to resist.
14 కాబట్టి యెహోవా కోపాగ్ని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద మండెను; ఆయన దోచుకొనువారిచేతికి వారిని అప్పగించెను. వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను దోచుకొనిరి; ఆయన వారి చుట్టునున్నవారి శత్రువులచేతికి వారిని అప్పగించెను గనుక వారు తమ శత్రువుల యెదుట నిలువలేకపోయిరి.౹ 

Israel kept the law (covenant) > God gave victory over enemies.

Israel rejected the law (covenant) > God gave them to their enemies.

Now let’s talk about us. Just like the people of Israel always had enemies around them, every Christian would have enemies around them.

Who is our enemy?

There are people who are against us and who want to harm us. People who wish our destruction are our enemies.

Are we going to harm them?

Ephesians 6:12 (our struggle is not against flesh and blood)
12ఏలయనగా మనము పోరాడునది శరీరులతో (6:12 మూలభాషలో–రక్తమాంసములతో.)  కాదు...

Then, who is our enemy?

1Peter 5:8 - మీ విరోధియైన అపవాది (5:8 అనగా సాతాను)
Satan (సాతాను), the Devil

Hebrew meaning of Satan > Adversary / Enemy (విరోధి / శత్రువు).

Satan is the ruler of this world and prince of the power of the air.

John 12:31. The prince of this world / ఈ లోకాధికారి 

2 Corinthians 4:4. The god of this age / ఈ యుగ సంబంధమైన దేవత

Ephesians 2:2 (prince of the power of the air) the ruler of the kingdom of the air / వాయు మండల సంబంధమైన అధిపతి (అనగా అవిధేయులైన వారిని ఇప్పుడు ప్రేరేపించు శక్తికి అధిపతి)

He is an accuser / నేరము మోపు వాడైన అపవాది – Revelations 12:10.

A tempter / శోధకుడు - Matthew 4:3 / 1 Thessalonians 3:5.

A deceiver / మోసగాడు – Genesis 3:4 / 2 Corinthians 4:4 / Revelations 20:3 (deceive the nations).

John 8:44 - You are the children of your father, the Devil, and you want to follow your father's desires. From the very beginning he was a murderer and has never been on the side of truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he is only doing what is natural to him, because he is a liar and the father of all lies. 
44 మీరు మీ తండ్రియగు అపవాది (8:44 అనగా, సాతాను.) సంబంధులు; మీ తండ్రి దురాశలు నెరవేర్చ గోరుచున్నారు. ఆదినుండి వాడు నరహంతకుడైయుండి ,సత్యమందు నిలిచినవాడు కాడు; వానియందు సత్యమేలేదు; వాడు అబద్ధమాడునప్పుడు తన స్వభావము అనుసరించియే మాటలాడును; వాడు అబద్ధికుడును అబద్ధమునకు జనకుడునై (8:44 లేక, అబద్ధికునికి జనకుడునై.) యున్నాడు.౹ 

• వాడు నరహంతకుడైయుండి 
• సత్యమందు నిలిచినవాడు కాడు
• వానియందు సత్యమేలేదు
• వాడు అబద్ధికుడును, అబద్ధమునకు జనకుడు
• అబద్ధమాడునప్పుడు - తన స్వభావము

2 Corinthians 4:4 - They do not believe, because their minds have been kept in the dark by the evil god of this world. He keeps them from seeing the light shining on them, the light that comes from the Good News about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

4 దేవుని స్వరూపియైయున్న క్రీస్తు మహిమను కనుపరచు సువార్త ప్రకాశము వారికి  (అవిశ్వాసులైనవారికి) ప్రకా శింపకుండు నిమిత్తము, ఈ యుగ సంబంధమైన దేవత అవిశ్వాసులైనవారి మనో నేత్రములకు గ్రుడ్డితనము కలుగ జేసెను.౹ 

• ఈ యుగ సంబంధమైన దేవత అవిశ్వాసులైనవారి మనో నేత్రములకు గ్రుడ్డితనము కలుగ జేసెను. 
• అవిశ్వాసులైనవారికి  - దేవుని స్వరూపియైయున్న క్రీస్తు మహిమను కనుపరచు సువార్త ప్రకాశము వారికి  (అవిశ్వాసులైనవారికి) ప్రకా శింపకుండు నిమిత్తము...
• సువార్త  = దేవుని స్వరూపియైయున్న క్రీస్తు మహిమను కనుపరచును

Ephesians 2:2 - At that time you followed the world's evil way; you obeyed the ruler of the spiritual powers in space, the spirit who now controls the people who disobey God.

2 మీరు వాటిని  ( అపరాధములు, పాపములు ) చేయుచు, వాయు మండల సంబంధమైన అధిపతిని, అనగా అవిధేయులైన వారిని ఇప్పుడు ప్రేరేపించు శక్తికి అధిపతిని అనుసరించి, యీ ప్రపంచ ధర్మముచొప్పున (2:2 మూలభాషలో–యుగము చొప్పున.) మునుపు నడుచుకొంటిరి.౹

• యీ ప్రపంచ ధర్మము - అపరాధములు, పాపములు చేయుచు (మీ అపరాధములచేతను పాపములచేతను మీరు చచ్చినవారై యుండగా)
• వాయు మండల సంబంధమైన అధిపతిని, అనగా అవిధేయులైన వారిని ఇప్పుడు ప్రేరేపించు శక్తికి అధిపతిని అనుసరించి

Ephesians 6:12 - For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.

12 ఏలయనగా మనము పోరాడునది శరీరులతో (6:12 మూలభాషలో–రక్తమాంసములతో.)  కాదు, గాని ప్రధానులతోను, అధికారులతోను, ప్రస్తుత అంధకారసంబంధులగు లోక నాథులతోను, ఆకాశమండలమందున్న దురాత్మల సమూహములతోను పోరాడుచున్నాము.౹ 

• మనము పోరాడునది శరీరులతో (6:12 మూలభాషలో–రక్తమాంసములతో.)  కాదు
• ప్రధానులతోను, 
• అధికారులతోను, 
• ప్రస్తుత అంధకారసంబంధులగు లోక నాథులతోను, 
• ఆకాశమండలమందున్న దురాత్మల సమూహములతో

Now let us see how a person who had faith is God faced the enemy.

      King of Syria wanted to kill the King of Israel.

      His plans did not work, because of the revolution given to Elisha.

      So the King wanted to attack Elisha.

      Horses (గుఱ్ఱములను) & Chariots (రథములను) and Great Army (గొప్పసైన్యమును).

      Two people to face the same army.

14 Then he sent horses and chariots and a strong force there. They went by night and surrounded the city.
14 కాబట్టి రాజు అచ్చటికి గుఱ్ఱములను రథములను గొప్పసైన్యమును పంపెను. వారు రాత్రివేళ వచ్చి నలుదిశలను పట్టణమును చుట్టుకొనగా 

2 Kings 6:15 – Servant

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
15 దైవజనుడైన అతని పనివాడు పెందలకడ లేచి బయటికి వచ్చి నప్పుడు గుఱ్ఱములును రథములునుగల సైన్యము పట్టణమును చుట్టుకొని యుండుట కనబడెను. అంతట అతని పనివాడు–అయ్యో నా యేలినవాడా, మనము ఏమి చేయుదమని ఆ దైవజనునితో అనగా 

He was afraid.

It is obvious after looking at that great army.

Syrian king used horses, chariots and soldiers.

Satan uses lie, temptation, hatred, fear….

He was not prepared.

The moment is saw the army, he turned back.

He anticipated death or capture.  

2 Kings 6:16-17 - Elisha

16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
16 అతడు–భయపడవద్దు, మన పక్షమున నున్నవారు వారికంటె అధికులై యున్నారని చెప్పి 

Elisha was not afraid.

He was prepared.

Though he did not know about the about the Syrian army, it looks like he knew what was happening.

He did not turn back.

He says "for those who are with us, are more than those who are with them".

He prays to God asking to open the eyes of the servant.

Servant vs Elisha

Servant was in the world. - Elisha left the world for Christ [1 Kings 19:19-21 the way he came to God]

Servant believed in what he saw. - Elisha believed in the unseen. [2 Cor 4:18]
17 And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. 18 For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.
17 మేము దృశ్యమైనవాటిని చూడక అదృశ్యమైనవాటినే నిదానించి చూచుచున్నాము గనుక౹ 18 క్షణమాత్రముండు మా చులకని శ్రమ మాకొరకు అంత కంతకు ఎక్కువగా నిత్యమైన మహిమ భారమును కలుగ జేయుచున్నది. ఏలయనగా దృశ్యమైనవి అనిత్యములు; అదృశ్యమైనవి నిత్యములు.

What we see is temporary (దృశ్యమైనవి అనిత్యములు). - What is unseen is eternal (అదృశ్యమైనవి నిత్యములు).

Servant walked by sight (చూపువలన). - Elisha walked by faith (విశ్వాసమువలననే). [2 Cor 5:7]
6 వెలి చూపువలన కాక విశ్వాసమువలననే నడుచుకొనుచున్నాము౹ 

Servant turned back. - Elisha never turned back [ Luke 9:62 reflects his character] 
62 Jesus said to him, “Anyone who starts to plow and then keeps looking back is of no use for the Kingdom of God.”
62 యేసు–నాగటిమీద చెయ్యిపెట్టి వెనుకతట్టు చూచు వాడెవడును దేవుని రాజ్యమునకు పాత్రుడుకాడని వానితో చెప్పెను.

Our enemy is a strong enemy too.

John 10:10 - The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy.
10 దొంగ దొంగతనమును హత్యను నాశనమును చేయుటకు వచ్చును గాని మరి దేనికిని రాడు;

1 Peter 5:8 - Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 
8 నిబ్బరమైన బుద్ధిగలవారై మెలకువగా ఉండుడి; మీ విరోధియైన అప వాది (5:8 అనగా సాతాను) గర్జించు సింహమువలె ఎవరిని మ్రింగుదునా అని వెదకుచు తిరుగుచున్నాడు.౹

How do we identify the enemy?

17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

17–యెహోవా, వీడు చూచునట్లు దయచేసి వీని కండ్లను తెరువుమని ఎలీషా ప్రార్థనచేయగా యెహోవా ఆ పనివాని కండ్లను తెరవచేసెను గనుక వాడు ఎలీషాచుట్టును పర్వతము అగ్ని గుఱ్ఱములచేత రథములచేతను నిండియుండుట చూచెను.౹ 

In order to identify the enemy, our spiritual eyes needs to be opened.

2 Cor 4:3-4 Satan blinded our minds.
3 For if the gospel we preach is hidden, it is hidden only from those who are being lost. 4 They do not believe, because their minds have been kept in the dark by the evil god of this world. He keeps them from seeing the light shining on them, the light that comes from the Good News about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. 

3 మా సువార్త మరుగుచేయబడినయెడల నశించుచున్నవారి విషయములోనే మరుగుచేయబడియున్నది.౹ 4 దేవుని స్వరూపియైయున్న క్రీస్తు మహిమను కనుపరచు సువార్త ప్రకాశము వారికి ప్రకా శింపకుండు నిమిత్తము, ఈ యుగ సంబంధమైన దేవత అవిశ్వాసులైనవారి మనో నేత్రములకు గ్రుడ్డితనము కలుగ జేసెను.౹ 

• ఈ యుగ సంబంధమైన దేవత అవిశ్వాసులైనవారి మనో నేత్రములకు గ్రుడ్డితనము కలుగ జేసెను.౹ 
• దేవుని స్వరూపియైయున్న క్రీస్తు మహిమను కనుపరచు సువార్త ప్రకాశము వారికి ప్రకా శింపకుండు నిమిత్తము, 
• సువార్త  = దేవుని స్వరూపియైయున్న క్రీస్తు మహిమను కనుపరచును
• మా సువార్త మరుగుచేయబడినయెడల నశించుచున్నవారి (అపరాధములచేతను పాపములచేతను మీరు చచ్చినవారై యుండగా) విషయములోనే మరుగుచేయబడియున్నది

Eph 1:18 - Spiritual eyes are opened through our hearts.

18 I ask that your minds may be opened to see his light, so that you will know what is the hope to which he has called you, how rich are the wonderful blessings he promises his people, 

John 14:16-20 (The Promise of the Holy Spirit)
16 I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, who will stay with you forever. 17 He is the Spirit, who reveals the truth about God. The world cannot receive him, because it cannot see him or know him. But you know him, because he remains with you and is in you.
18 “When I go, you will not be left all alone; I will come back to you. 19 In a little while the world will see me no more, but you will see me; and because I live, you also will live. 20 When that day comes, you will know that I am in my Father and that you are in me, just as I am in you.

16 నేను తండ్రిని వేడుకొందును, మీయొద్ద ఎల్లప్పుడు నుండుటకై ఆయన వేరొక ఆదరణకర్తను, (14:16 లేక, ఉత్తరవాదిని.) అనగా సత్యస్వరూపియగు ఆత్మను మీకనుగ్రహించును.౹ 
17 లోకము ఆయనను చూడదు, ఆయనను ఎరుగదు గనుక ఆయనను పొంద నేరదు; 
మీరు ఆయనను ఎరుగుదురు. ఆయన మీతోకూడ నివసించును, మీలో ఉండును.౹ 

- the world cannot see God.
- as long as you are in world, your spiritual eyes are closed.
- you need to come out of the world. [like Elisha]

2 Cor 4:18 - fix our eyes not on seen, but on unseen.
                  - seen is temporary.
                  - unseen is eternal.
17 And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. 18 For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.

6 వెలి చూపువలన కాక విశ్వాసమువలననే నడుచుకొనుచున్నాము౹

Imagine if the Servant saw the horses and chariots of fire (పర్వతము అగ్ని గుఱ్ఱములచేత రథములచేతను నిండియుండుట చూచెను.)

He would not have said "అయ్యో నా యేలినవాడా, మనము ఏమి చేయుదమని ".

He would have said "మన పక్షమున నున్నవారు వారికంటె అధికులై యున్నారని చెప్పి".

Elisha faced the Syrian army without any fear.

Deut 20:1 - 1 “When you go out to fight against your enemies and you see chariots and horses and an army that outnumbers yours, do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who rescued you from Egypt, will be with you.
1 నీవు నీ శత్రువులతో యుద్ధమునకు పోయి గుఱ్ఱములను రథములను మీకంటె విస్తారమైన జనమును చూచు నప్పుడు వారికి భయపడవద్దు; ఐగుప్తు దేశములోనుండి నిన్ను రప్పించిన నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకు తోడై యుండును.౹

Psalms 138:7 - 7 When I am surrounded by troubles, you keep me safe. You oppose my angry enemies and save me by your power.
7 నేను ఆపదలలో చిక్కుబడి యున్నను, నీవు నన్ను బ్రదికించెదవు. నా శత్రువుల కోపమునుండి, నన్ను రక్షించుటకై, నీవు నీచేయి చాపెదవు. నీ కుడిచేయి నన్ను రక్షించును.

2 Chro 20:15 - For the battle is not your, but Gods.
15 Jahaziel said, “Your Majesty and all you people of Judah and Jerusalem, the Lord says that you must not be discouraged or be afraid to face this large army. The battle depends on God, not on you.
15–యూదావారలారా, యెరూషలేము కాపు రస్థులారా, యెహోషాపాతు రాజా, మీరందరును ఆలకించుడి; యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా–ఈ గొప్ప సైన్యమునకు మీరు భయపడకుడి, జడియకుడి, యీ యుద్ధము మీరు కాదు దేవుడే జరిగించును.౹

Deut 31:6 - God goes along with you in war.
6 Be determined and confident. Do not be afraid of them. Your God, the Lord himself, will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.”
6 భయపడకుడి, వారిని చూచి దిగులుపడకుడి, నీతోకూడ వచ్చువాడు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాయే; ఆయన నిన్ను విడువడు నిన్నెడబాయడు.౹

Eph 6:13-18 - Put on the full armor of God, to stand against the devil.
 Belt of truth - (మీ నడుమునకు సత్యమను దట్టి కట్టుకొని)
 Breastplate of righteousness - (నీతియను మైమరువు తొడుగుకొని)
 Shoes > gospel of peace - (పాదములకు సమాధాన సువార్తవలననైన సిద్ధమనస్సను జోడుతొడుగుకొని నిలువబడుడి)
 Shield of faith - (విశ్వాసమను డాలు పట్టుకొనుడి)
 Helmet of salvation - (రక్షణయను శిరస్త్రాణమును)
 Sword > word of God - (దేవుని వాక్యమను ఆత్మఖడ్గమును ధరించుకొనుడి)
 Praying at all times. - (18ఆత్మవలన ప్రతి సమయమునందును ప్రతి విధమైన ప్రార్థనను విజ్ఞాపననుచేయుచు, ఆ విషయమై సమస్త పరిశుద్ధుల నిమిత్తమును పూర్ణమైన పట్టుదలతో విజ్ఞాపనచేయుచు మెలకువగా ఉండుడి.౹ )

Satan will attack us physically and spiritually.
We need to stand our ground.

====How Elisha fought the war?====

He prayed and took the army to Samaria.

King wanted to kill them. - 21 When the king of Israel saw them, he asked Elisha, “Shall I kill them, my father? Shall I kill them?”
21 అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు వారిని పారజూచి–నాయనా వీరిని కొట్టుదునా, కొట్టుదునా? అని ఎలీషాను అడుగగా 

Elisha fed the army and sent them home. - 22 “Do not kill them,” he answered. “Would you kill those you have captured with your own sword or bow? Set food and water before them so that they may eat and drink and then go back to their master.” 23 So he prepared a great feast for them, and after they had finished eating and drinking, he sent them away, and they returned to their master. 
22 అతడు–నీవు వీరిని కొట్టవద్దు; నీ కత్తిచేతను నీ వింటిచేతను నీవు చెరపెట్టిన వారినైనను కొట్టుదువా? వారికి భోజనము పెట్టించి వారుతిని త్రాగిన తరువాత వారు తమ యజమానుని యొద్దకు వెళ్లుదురని చెప్పెను.౹  23 అతడు వారి కొరకు విస్తారమైన భోజన పదార్థములను సిద్ధపరచగా వారు అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొని రాజు సెలవుపొంది తమ యజమానుని యొద్దకు పోయిరి. 

2 Cor 10:3-5 - We dont war as the world does.
3 It is true that we live in the world, but we do not fight from worldly motives. 4 The weapons we use in our fight are not the world's weapons but God's powerful weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. We destroy false arguments; 5 we pull down every proud obstacle that is raised against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey Christ. 

3 మేము శరీరధారులమై నడుచు కొనుచున్నను  - శరీరప్రకారము యుద్ధముచేయము.౹ 
4 మా యుద్ధోపకరణములు శరీరసంబంధమైనవి కావుగాని, దేవుని యెదుట దుర్గములను పడద్రోయజాలినంత బలము కలవై యున్నవి.౹ 
5 మేము వితర్కములను (false arguments), దేవునిగూర్చిన జ్ఞానమును అడ్డగించు ప్రతి ఆటంకమును (obstacle )పడద్రోసి, ప్రతి ఆలోచనను క్రీస్తుకు లోబడునట్లు చెరపెట్టి౹

1 Peter 3:9 - Pay evil with blessings.
9 Do not pay back evil with evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing, because a blessing is what God promised to give you when he called you.

9 ఆశీర్వాదమునకు వారసులవుటకు మీరు పిలువబడితిరి గనుక కీడుకు ప్రతికీడైనను దూషణకు ప్రతి దూషణయైనను చేయక దీవించుడి.

Matt 5:43-48 - Forgive and love your enemies. That makes a difference.
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your friends, hate your enemies.’ 44 But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may become the children of your Father in heaven. For he makes his sun to shine on bad and good people alike, and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil. 46 Why should God reward you if you love only the people who love you? Even the tax collectors do that! 47 And if you speak only to your friends, have you done anything out of the ordinary? Even the pagans do that! 48 You must be perfect—just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

44 నేను మీతో చెప్పునదేమనగా, మీరు పరలోకమందున్న మీ తండ్రికి కుమారులై యుండునట్లు మీ శత్రువులను ప్రేమించుడి. మిమ్మును హింసించు వారికొరకు ప్రార్థన చేయుడి. 45 ఆయన చెడ్డవారిమీదను మంచివారిమీదను తన సూర్యుని ఉదయింపజేసి, నీతిమంతులమీదను, అనీతిమంతులమీదను వర్షము కురిపించుచున్నాడు. 46 మీరు మిమ్మును ప్రేమించువారినే ప్రేమించినయెడల మీకేమి ఫలము కలుగును? సుంకరులును ఆలాగు చేయుచున్నారు గదా. 47 మీ సహోదరులకు మాత్రము వందనము చేసినయెడల మీరు ఎక్కువ చేయుచున్నదేమి? అన్యజనులును ఆలాగు చేయుచున్నారు గదా. 48 మీ పరలోకపు తండ్రి పరిపూర్ణుడు గనుక మీరును పరిపూర్ణులుగా ఉండెదరు.

Soldiers of God - 2 Tim 2:22-26
22 Avoid the passions of youth, and strive for righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who with a pure heart call out to the Lord for help. 23 But keep away from foolish and ignorant arguments; you know that they end up in quarrels. 24 As the Lord's servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all, a good and patient teacher, 25 who is gentle as you correct your opponents, for it may be that God will give them the opportunity to repent and come to know the truth. 26 And then they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the Devil, who had caught them and made them obey his will.

22 నీవు యౌవనేచ్ఛలనుండి పారిపొమ్ము,(2:22 మూలభాషలో–విడిచి పారిపొమ్ము.)  
పవిత్ర హృదయులై 
ప్రభువునకు ప్రార్థన చేయువారితోకూడ 

• నీతిని 
• విశ్వాసమును 
• ప్రేమను 
• సమాధానమును  

- వెంటాడుము.౹ 

23 నేర్పులేని మూఢుల వితర్కములు జగడములను (foolish and ignorant arguments )పుట్టించునని యెరిగి అట్టివాటిని విసర్జించుము (keep away).౹ 

24-26 సత్యవిషయమైన అనుభవజ్ఞానము వారికి  - కలుగుటకై, 

దేవుడొకవేళ ఎదురాడు వారికి మారుమనస్సు దయచేయును; 

అందువలన సాతాను తన యిష్టము చొప్పున చెరపెట్టిన వీరు వాని యురిలోనుండి తప్పించుకొని మేలుకొనెదరేమో అని, 

ప్రభువుయొక్క దాసుడు అట్టివారిని 

• సాత్వికముతో శిక్షించుచు, 
• జగడమాడక 
• అందరి యెడల సాధువుగాను 
• బోధింప సమర్థుడుగాను, 
• కీడును సహించువాడుగాను 

-ఉండవలెను.

2 Cor 2:1-11 [Paul asks the church of Cor to forgive eachother]

1 So I made up my mind not to come to you again to make you sad. 2 For if I were to make you sad, who would be left to cheer me up? Only the very persons I had made sad. 3 That is why I wrote that letter to you—I did not want to come to you and be made sad by the very people who should make me glad. For I am convinced that when I am happy, then all of you are happy too. 4 I wrote you with a greatly troubled and distressed heart and with many tears; my purpose was not to make you sad, but to make you realize how much I love you all.
Forgiveness for the Offender
5 Now, if anyone has made somebody sad, he has not done it to me but to all of you—in part, at least. (I say this because I do not want to be too hard on him.) 6 It is enough that this person has been punished in this way by most of you. 7 Now, however, you should forgive him and encourage him, in order to keep him from becoming so sad as to give up completely. 8 And so I beg you to let him know that you really do love him. 9 I wrote you that letter because I wanted to find out how well you had stood the test and whether you are always ready to obey my instructions. 10 When you forgive people for what they have done, I forgive them too. For when I forgive—if, indeed, I need to forgive anything—I do it in Christ's presence because of you, 11 in order to keep Satan from getting the upper hand over us; for we know what his plans are.

1 మరియు నేను దుఃఖముతో మీయొద్దకు తిరిగిరానని నామట్టుకు నేను నిశ్చయించుకొంటిని.౹ 2 నేను మిమ్మును దుఃఖపరచునెడల నాచేత దుఃఖపరచబడినవాడు తప్ప మరి ఎవడు నన్ను సంతోషపరచును?౹ 3 నేను వచ్చి నప్పుడు ఎవరివలన నేను సంతోషము పొందతగినదో, వారివలన నాకు దుఃఖము కలుగకుండవలెనని యీ సంగతి మీకు వ్రాసితిని. మరియు నా సంతోషము మీ అందరి సంతోషమేయని మీ అందరియందు నమ్మకము కలిగి యీలాగు వ్రాసితిని.౹ 4 మీకు దుఃఖము కలుగ వలెనని కాదు గాని, మీయెడల నాకు కలిగియున్న అత్యధికమైన ప్రేమను మీరు తెలిసికొనవలెనని, నిండు శ్రమతోను మనోవేదనతోను ఎంతో కన్నీరు విడుచుచు మీకు వ్రాసితిని.
5 ఎవడైనను దుఃఖము కలుగజేసి యుండినయెడల, నాకు మాత్రము కాదు కొంతమట్టుకు మీకందరికిని దుఃఖము కలుగజేసియున్నాడు. నేను విశేషభారము వానిమీద మోపగోరక యీ మాట చెప్పుచున్నాను.౹ 6 అట్టివానికి మీలో ఎక్కువమందివలన కలిగిన యీ శిక్షయే చాలును౹ 7 గనుక మీరిక వానిని శిక్షింపక క్షమించి ఆదరించుట మంచిది. లేనియెడల ఒకవేళ వాడు అత్యధికమైన దుఃఖములో మునిగిపోవును.౹ 8 కావున వాని యెడల మీ ప్రేమను స్థిరపరచవలెనని మిమ్మును బతిమాలుకొనుచున్నాను.౹ 9 మీరన్ని విషయములందు విధేయులై యున్నారేమో అని మీ యోగ్యత తెలిసికొనుటకే గదా పూర్వము వ్రాసితిని.౹ 10 మీరు దేనిగూర్చియైనను ఎవని క్షమించుచున్నారో నేనును వానిని క్షమించుచున్నాను.౹ 11 నేనేమైనను క్షమించియుంటే సాతాను మనలను మోస పరచకుండునట్లు, మీ నిమిత్తము, క్రీస్తు సముఖమునందు క్షమించియున్నాను; సాతాను తంత్రములను మనము ఎరుగనివారము కాము.


So the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel’s territory.
అప్పటినుండి సిరియనులదండువారు ఇశ్రాయేలుదేశములోనికి వచ్చుట మానిపోయెను.

Same enemy faced by three people, who reacted in three different ways.

                                                 -  Servant > Fear
Syrian Army [ Same Enemy ] -  Elisha >  Faith, Courage and Forgive
                                                 -  King of Israel >  Kill

1 John 4:4 - Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
4 చిన్నపిల్లలారా, మీరు దేవుని సంబంధులు; మీలో ఉన్నవాడు లోకములో ఉన్నవాని కంటె గొప్పవాడు గనుక మీరు వారిని జయించియున్నారు.౹

Finally! Remember!
Our enemy is Satan (not flesh and blood. Not people)
Satan attacks us with 
       Lies
       Temptation
       Hatred
       Physically and spiritually 
We are not supposed to mingle with Satan. 
Fight against the Satan.
      Spiritual Eyes
      Armor of God
      Battle belongs to the Lord. 
Our weapons are.
      Faith
      Love
      Forgiveness
      Compassion
      Prayer
